***UPDATE: Finally, after 6-weeks it RAINED on Monday! Not a gully washer but a slow and steady soft rain-we badly needed this and I am so thankful!

This is the first in my memory of living here in the U.P. where we are experiencing an extremely dry spring-NO RAIN, in fact Green Bay, WI about an hour south of us and in Wisconsin-I'm in Michigan, have gone without rain in over 28 days. Everything in my yard has stopped growing except the weeds. My beautiful banks and banks of deep purple iris are not there this year-I have a handful of stunted iris where there should be a river of color.

It's very disheartening as our summer season is so very short and all winter long I look forward to some color. Our poor farmers are suffering as well. We are under an Extreme Danger for fires-and I dread the thought of that possibility. For days, now we have been experiencing a fire haze caused by the fires in Quebec. Air quality is on high alert as well.

Anyone else experiencing little or NO rain this season?

Melody

We are in a drought here in the Chicago area and also experiencing poor air quality due to the fires in Canada. We haven't had a measurable rain in over 6 weeks and event then it was just 1/4". I have been reading that the worlds wheat crops are greatly threatened due to the high temps and lack of rain.

Melody, down here in Florida where I live, it has rained around us but we are dry as a bone! We need one or two of those afternoon thunderstorm cells to stop by and give all of our trees and plants a drink!!

I am so sorry to hear so many places are struggling to get rain. We were like that last year, but luckily things have been better this year. I hope some rain fall comes soon for you all and makes things better.

On the day I fly out to see my granddaughter in Washington state we get rain! SEVERE!!! Our area was hit again but not a tornado this time but almost as bad. Thankfully no one was hurt. Our neighbor had a huge pecan tree fall on her trailer. Sara was out when it hit her in town.. So, we are done with rain here in Jack!!! My hubs says more severe weather on the way today but thank God I'm safely in Washington now. Bumpy trip.. So keep them in your thoughts and prayers please. Ty
