Tara, I love making fresh lemonade too. I make a simple syrup grate lemon peel and add to the simple syrup, then squeeze lemons to get the juice and mix together in large pitcher.

First time canning green beans. My MIL gave me a bunch, I didn't plant enough.
These are Tenderettes. I prefer this green beans to the Blue Lake variety.
I planted more beans 10 days ago. In my area I can get 2nd harvest of bush beans.

Today's good mood brought to you by a lot of coffee!!!

Tara, your lemonade looks delicious! I want to make some now! And your green beans look great. I was just barely able to pick my first handful yesterday. I look forward to hopefully canning mine as well.

Too hot to be outside. 105* today-ick I went to several thrift shops today. The Upstate, Greenville SC area had a lot of thrift shops. I was on the hunt for a glass pitcher, 1 broke this week.

The shape caught my eye. I love bargains, 1.50 for this beauty.

Tara, we are a 6a here. We had a super late spring this year so it put many of my garden plants behind.

Tara,
Your cans of green beans look fantastic. I won't can veggies that I don't use vinegar in because I don't like using the big old pressure canner I have. I've used it twice when my mom was still here to help me but now I'm always afraid I won't get it right.

My presto is the only canner I've used. My husband helped get it set up.
I planted more green beans for fall harvest, but don't think there will be enough to can. I'm already thinking of how to grow more green beans next year.

I have 2 raised beds for now. Tomatoes still producing. I planted bush beans and sugar snaps in 1rst bed. Not enough beans to can but should produce extra for freezing. In other bed potatoes and peppers. Some of the peppers look sad and that is cause I moved them. Plenty of water and good soil and they will perk up. I hope to plant early wonder beets in later today, if storms stay away
Too hot in Upstate SC to plant salad greens. The garden is wild and that's okay. The grass needs trimming

I had 2 tomato plants I put in ground by pond when I ran out of space.
1 is a cherry type and the other is a mystery. Any guesses?

I was in local thrift shop and found this hooded vest. I got a 25% discount as its senior day(I am over 55 but refuse to consider myself a senior), and only paid 2.44.
Had to share this bargain. The vest is in very good condition

Congratulations on your find. You certainly can't beat the price and it looks really nice. Hope it keeps you warm with the autumn temps finally arrive. I know I can't wait for them!

Roasted sweet snacking peppers in olive oil. These are not canned but in jar in the frig. Its hard not to eat all the peppers.
Garden fresh peppers the best!

Howdy
I'm hoping for a few more tomatoes. I am in garden zone 7B but our area is more like 8A/B during the months of JUNE-August This Black Prince tomato plant has been broken twice from storms. A bit of duck tape helped save the vine. These small heirloom tomatoes are super sweet. I'm hoping for a few more to ripen and then freeze to make soup. Who has made tomato soup from scratch?

Homemade tomato soup using German Pink tomatoes. I bought these from farmer's market. My garden was almost a fail with tomatoes.
This is the soup before I blended everything. It was delicious!!! My husband ate 2 bowls.
The dutch oven is a gift from my MIL.

Last of the tomatoes. I have not kept track of the pounds of fruit from 1 plant. This basket holds about 6 pounds. The Black Prince vine was moved 4 times and survived 2 storms. The main branch was broken twice and my husband used tape to hold branch together. The small variety of tomato makes a great homemade soup. I have made a lot of soup and its in freezer. I have saved a lot of seeds for next year. There are a few tomatoes on the window sill ripening up. Never had tomatoes this late in year.

Hi ladies. I made another 12 cups of bone broth from turkey bones. I did throw in a few onion scraps and carrot scraps.
I use a lot of broth in everyday cooking.
