Nini,

Thank you for that post. And I have always loved that song. I feel better just knowing someone understands how I feel! It's hard to stand by and watch young people waste their youth, but I need to back off and let it go. If only for my own well being. I guess I can say I tried. I'll deflect all those comments from her from now on and just change the subject, so not to get trapped again. Ugh. You sound like you've been there...thanks, sister!

Speaking as one whose youngest was at home until he was 32, except for the time he went to school in Manhattan, it is best to keep it to yourself. Though you see things differently and want to share your wisdom it is best not to give unasked for advice. My son worked with his father so moving out and then driving back here to go to work seemed senseless. He had friends and did things with them. When he was able to move out he did and he found a job. He ws feeling like he needed to be here for us. Being a mom for most of my life it is hard know what to do once they leave. It is the way for children to grow and leave but it isn't up to anyone else to make the decision when. Just my thoughts from another point of view.
