Hi Swapping Farmgirl Friends,

Let’s kick off the new year with the Traveling Craft Box Swap. Here’s how it works:

I’ll fill up a flat rate box with all kinds of craft items I’m happy to share/pass on. I’ll mail the box to the first swapper on the list. The next person receives the box, goes through and takes out what she wants and adds her stuff to the box. Whether she takes a lot or little is up to her, but she has to fill the box up again for the next person on our list.

This is a fun way to pass on supplies you don’t use anymore and you never know what treasures you might find. Please package up smaller items to keep them from getting lost. It also makes the box neater and easier to pack.

We’ll mail using a large flat rate box so shipping will be the same for everyone. Currently the large flat rate box (square) is $21.10.

When you receive the box, please post here and let us know you have received it. We can shoot for a 7 day turn around; post when you have shipped it on to the next person on the list. Please include the tracking number as it will be fun to “watch” our box travel.

We’ll limit this swap to 10 swappers and sign-ups will be open through February 1. Our first box will mail out by February 15th.

Here’s our list:

1. Churunga - Marie - Package received & Sent
2. Darlenelovesart - Darlene - Package received & Sent
3. Jean P - Jean - Package received & Sent
4. Hammahsfarm - Niki - Package received & Sent
5. Audra Rose - Vanessa - Package received & Sent
6. Levisgrammy - Denise - Package received & Sent
7. Jmpiercy - Joan - Package received & Sent
8. AndreaPA - Andrea - Package received & Sent
9. Quiltwright - Cristy - Package received & Sent
10. LauraBell - Laura - Package received

Please also email me your mailing address so I can include the mailing list in the box. When you receive the box, just cross off your name and send it to the next Farm Girl on the list.

I've already picked up our box in anticipation and can't wait to get started filling it up with fun supplies for you all!

Laura

What timing though. I just went through my craft stuff and donated so I won't join this time.

Me too Denise . . . But the "donation" box is still sitting in the spare bedroom. So I can go raid it for this swap. I'm assuming anything goes, Laura. Is that correct? I have a few neve-used project kits and patterns. Would they be appropriate? Been working on ideas for the Scrap Happy swap and had a thought. Perhaps I'll just pack up my whole scrap basket and put it in your box. . . . that could clear out a whole corner of my studio LOL.. . . we're gonna need a bigger box.;)

I've sent non-worked and half-worked kits. I've sent excess yarn and embroidery thread. I've also sent stuff that I thought a more creative sister would find a way to use and was mistaken. I like to see a variety of items in the box. When I open the box, I sort the items into piles labeled YES, NO and MAYBE. Pack the NO back into the box and sort the YES and MAYBE piles again. When all I have is YES, I pack up the box and add as much of my own stuff as I can. If sending scraps, I would recommend packing them by size or color group.

Yes - anything goes. I think last time I filled it with paper crafting, sewing, quilting, embellishments. It was a packed full box and I am sure it will be this time too. That’s why I love the flat rate boxes :)

Wel, Laura, you can add me as I found more things to get rid of in my craft stash while cleaning yesterday. I doubt I'll ever run out.
