Hello Farmgirls . . .
Seems there is much interest in a possible repeat of the Feed Sack Project. I have been looking online this morning trying to see if I could come across some more at a reasonable price. Not having too much luck. However, if you Google (Etsy in particular) "printed feed sacks", you will actually come across lots of Depression Era reproduction fabric. 1930's reproduction fabrics are available from RJR, Kaufman, Windham, Riley Blake, Blue Hill, Wilmington, Washington St., Paintbrush Studios, Henry Glass, Maywood Studios, Choice Fabrics.
And, you probably have some lurking around in your stash. We could do another swap using reproduction fabrics and keeping a vintage or retro theme to it. What do you think? We could keep our history project going for a bit longer. We might even segue into a look at our own individual histories for inspiration. Think Slavic, Latino, African American, Asian, Scandinavian, European, -- lots of possibilities. Let me know your thoughts and I'll try to design a special swap for us.

Jean, a Depression Era Reproduction Fabric swap instead of Feed Sacks is just fine with me. I know you will come up with something exciting! Thanks, Jean.

Oh Jean, if it were not for my Hubby,, I would be back in Spokane right now... lol! but he has not put on pants,,, has only worn shorts since we have been here.. as he says,, I refuse to put on Big Boy Pants,, luving shorts and short sleeve shirts. lol!

I LUV all my goodies and can hardly wait to get to play with them..
I might use the Bun Basket to hold some decorated Easter Eggs.. :>)

What a fun swap theme this has been.. 'sew' glad Jean came up with it.

BTW: I luv the fly swatter cover.. I keep a swatter handy in the service room for those tenacious flies who try to make my home theirs! lol!

EXTRA EXTRA - READ ALL ABOUT IT !!! THE FEED SACK PROJECT SWAP LIVES ON . . .

Yesserie!! Thanks to Feed Sack Swapper Joan Piercy and Queen Bee MaryJane, we have Feed Sacks for another swap. I am working on the details right now and will post it later today,. But the wonderful box of feed sacks arrived from MaryJane this morning and I am so excited, I just couldn't wait to tell you about it. Everyone - please take pictures of your swap items before they leave your home. There are many farm girls who cannot take or post pictures on MJF, and if you take one before it leaves your house, then if they have that problem you can post it for them. We love seeing the pictures.

This is the clothespin bag I made for Niki. The hanger was made from a tree branch. I also made a scalloped edge apron for her, but I don't have a picture of that. It was so much fun making them. Looking forward to the next one!

The clothespin bag is so sweet, did you do the embroidery or incorporate an antique piece? Either way the bag is so cute!

Thank you! The embroidery is from a vintage dresser scarf. I am now hooked on searching for the old pieces.

Linda, I try to remember to take pictures but frequently forget....lol. I am going to make a big sign to remind to take pictures before I mail items. Maybe that will help me!

Darlene, I just love what you sent me! Especially, the mug rug with the dress on it. Thank you, again.

Neat.

And now that Grace (Katmom) is back home, I can send her feed sack goodies from this swap to her and hope the Post Office Angels will play nice. . .

I received my Feed Sack package from Gail today. I love Blue Bear, my feed sack teddy bear with a crocheted collar and holding a red heart. She also included a nice card with note and a set of Affirmation Cards. Thank you so much.
