I have tons of green tomatoes in my garden. I need some new recipes other than just fried. Help.

Put your hair up in a bun, drink some coffee and handle it.

Joan - my Mom makes Green Tomato Pie - it is so good. I do not have the recipe, but sent her an email and I will post it as soon as I hear from her.

Ball Blue Books has recipes for: green tomato Mincemeat; Relish; and stuffed. My sister makes the stuffed with shredded cabbage and it's very good. Also a recipe for freezing green tomatoes.

This is a recipe that has been in my family for many years, Great Grandmother to Grandmother to my Mom. I have never made one myself but have helped my Mom many times.
Green Tomato Pie
This is a two crust pie (prepare or purchase pie dough)
Green Tomatoes to fill pie – cut up in thin wedges. (After cutting up the tomatoes, put in microwave for 10 to 15 minutes until the tomatoes start to cook.)
1 ½ cups sugar
¼ cups flour
1 Tablespoon corn starch or tapioca (my mom has always used corn starch but my grandmother used tapioca)
½ teaspoon cinnamon
2 Tablespoons vinegar
Mix above ingredients together
1 Tablespoon butter (cut into pieces and dot over the apple mixture before putting on top crust)
Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes, then turn down to 325 degrees for 35 minutes.
If anyone tries it let me know how it turns out!

I just cook the old fashioned way like my Granny. We try different dipping sauces. I like them plain.

Connie, those look scrumptious. I do the same with zucchini. Bread, fry and make incredible dipping sauces!
