I live on the upper Texas Gulf Coast and we are nervously watching the approach of not one, but two tropical systems - Hurricane Marco and Tropical Storm (soon to be a hurricane) Laura. Anyone who is familiar with storms like these knows how scary and destructive they can be. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the damage is minimal, there is no loss of life and the storms dissipate quickly once they make landfall.

I used to live in South Florida, so I well remember the preparations and worry. Don't miss it at all. On the other hand it was an opportunity for me to clean my fridge.

Stacy I've been watching the storms. Hope it passes your way without doing harm. I'm up in the northeast part, 40 miles south of Oklahoma, and hoping we get some rain from either or both storms.

Florida has taken a beating again and again over the years. I wish we could also get further away from the coast. It's just not a practical option at the moment. You're right, though, it is a good reason to clean out the fridge. Have a great day!

Thanks so much for the good wishes, Sara! I don't know if Marco will go anything for you, but if Laura keeps tracking the more this way, you might get some rain when she makes her northeast turn. I'm a little familiar with your area.I have ancestors who lived in Upshur County. Have a great day!
