I've been growing milkweed plants for the last 3 years. The seed pods usually never fully develop because I've had problems controlling aphids. But this year I've been blessed and figured things out! So before the aphids got here, before the red milkweed bug came I had quite a few pods ripen and burst forth with lots of seeds. I took 2 envelopes and filled them with seed to give away because I know how expensive it is to buy it.
So the first 2 people that email me asking for the seed will get them.

Please make sure you have plenty of area to plant these and that these will work for your area. I'm number 8/9 zone, so hot and humid and very little'winter'. Its the perfect plant for these condition!

Let's spread the help of the Monarchs ladies!! :)

Dianna,,, unfortunately I am a zone 4a &b.. so most likely Milkweed won't grow well here..
Other wise I would love to grow some to attract more 'flutterbies'... (butterflies)...

I'll try some. Is there still time to grow this year or should it wait until next year? I haven't seen a butterfly here in ages except for those white ones that produce caterpillars that eat my turnips and okra in the garden.

We have quite a bit of winter here so they wonít grow well here either. I hope they grow and do well at their new homes and more butterflies come around!
