At last weeks Thrifting adventure, I scored a new, still packaged, 40yd bolt of tulle netting... and at only $3...
I use netting for tons of stuff,, including my garden..
I recalled having some old 1960's booklets on Netting projects...
including this apron design...
Well... I just might have to try to make one...

So cute, Grace. Love that color! You need one of those aprons for your trailer - or for one of them, anyway. LOL! I would add a wider waistband, IMHO. It would be a lot easier to put the gathered tulle in a wider waistband than in the narrow one shows in the picture.
I have some tulle I was going to make crocheted scrubbies with - this would be a lot easier. LOL! Can you please text me a copy of the pattern?

You can make a lot of party aprons and scrubbies. My thrift shops don't have neat stuff like yours and the prices are much higher.

I know, Judith, Grace has the greatest thrift shops. I have one that I go to pretty often, but the stuff isn't that nice. I did find some fabric there once.

ok,, here is what I did...
I used some left over eyelet fabric to make the waist.. and scrap lacy hem tape to trim..
I must say,, working with netting is a pain in the Tukkus!
I made a wee flower from the lace trim and attached it to the waist band with w button..
All in All,, it was interesting to make,, but the darn netting catches on everything...lol!

Cute apron, Grace. The only experience I have with working with netting is from the 1950s. As a teenager I made full circular petticoats to wear under full circular skirts. The netting was gathered in strips and sewn on to the hem of the petticoat. A petticoat of all netting would have been too itchy. If one petticoat looked good two or three was even better. Then I wore those awful cinch belts to make my waist smaller. Oh but, I thought I looked so cute in those skirts with my bobby socks & loafers. I also remember the brown & white oxfords or was it black & white - after all these years one does seem to forget some details. Sorry about the walk down memory lane but one thought does lead to another.

Sara,, yep,, those durable Oxford loafers, mine were blk & wht.. and I loved my penny loafers,, I was in hog heaven when I could afford to put dimes in, instead of a penny... oh and don't forget,, those shiny patent leather Mary Janes with matching purse... lol!
I remember wearing the full 1 piece petticoats,, the top half was a nylony type fabric and the lower half the netting that would make our shirtwaist dresses puff out.
And Dungeries wear for week end outdoor playing...

Grace one more memory. When I was 12 or so I lived next door to two teenage girls. Back then there were no girl jeans so they bought boys and would put them on and soak in a tub of water to shrink them. Back in those days denim would shrink after washing. They stayed outside until they were dried and those were the tightest neatest jeans I ever saw. I couldn't wait to be 16 so I could shrink jeans to fit. Those were the days when we waited our turn to do things. Well I turned 16 and peddle pushers were all the rage so I never got to shrink my jeans while sitting in a tub of water. Sorta wish I had done it.

Now and then I think of "forbidden" things of my youth. Only bad girls wore ankle bracelets or had their ears pierced. I got my ears pierced when I was 17. My father looked at me and said "The next step is a ring through your nose" and didn't speak to me for two weeks.

Judith,, I still have a couple of ankle bracelets.... I just never wear them anymore...maybe I should dig them out of the jewelery box.. I could make such the fashion statement in my Garden of Weedin'.. tank top, raggity shorts flip flops and a stunning ankle bracelet!
