Several years ago, I did a swap about Thanksgiving and received this adorable dish towel made with Yo-yos. I don't remember who my partner was but I bring this adorable towel out every year at Thanksgiving time. I just love it and it is too cute to use!! Isn't it clever to use yo-yos to make this cute turkey and pumpkins?

Your partner was probably Grace. She does amazing things with yoyos.

Very cute towel - I have a lot of yoyo circles cut out, but have too many other projects to make anything with them. LOL!

That towel is adorable! I wouldn't be able to use it either. It's perfect for this time of year. Hope you enjoy it for many years to come.

Over the weekend I got all my numbers sewn on to each square. I’m going to make the gingerbread man that goes with it next. I can’t wait to see my advent calendar all finished.

Cold, snowy, blustery day here in northern Idaho. But I'm toasty in my studio with cozy electric fireplace to keep me warm and lots of fun Christmas projects to keep me busy. Today I am making quilted baskets. Too fun. I just adore these little projects made entirely in the hoop.
Embroidery complete and all done in the hoop

Finished basket

Too sweet! Comes in three different sizes. This is the smallest. Working on another mid-size now. For those of you with embroidery machines, if you haven't yet tried the magnetic hoops, head to your quilt shop and check them out. A bit pricey but well worth it. They make hooping easy peasy. You could add one to your list for Santa, unless you've been naughty, that is.

Need to take a break after today's projects. Tomorrow will be housecleaning and pie baking. And, of course, I'll be doing the same thing you are on Thursday . . . cooking and stuffing my face. LOL Happy Thanksgiving to all . . .

Cute basket, Jean. How large is your hoop? That basket looks pretty large. I guess I need to get a larger embroidery machine; mine only has a 4" square hoop and not too much you can do with that size. Boo hoo! What kind do you have?

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

I've been working on organizing my quilting/crafting room - it is getting there. When done, I will have 5 machines available so I can move from project to project and not have to keep changing thread colors.

I'm thinking if I movethat by moving the cutting table to the middle of the room it will benefit my crafting in several ways:
1. Have wall room to keep another sewing machine/table
2. Possibly have a design wall
3. Force me to keep the cutting table more useable - can't stack things against the wall
I guess time will tell. LOL!

I've been working on finishing up Christmas table runners and grab bag gifts for my 2 quilting groups.

I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving and no one overdoses on Turkey and fixings.

Jean - Cute basket!
Linda -- We must be birds of a feather. My Bernina is in the shop so I rearranged tables and stuff in the sewing room. Have a Featherweight and a treadle machine set up to sew on for the duration. Goodness knows how long the Bernina will be in the shop; last time it was two months. I do like the new arrangement, for the most part.
This has been a horrible week. A dearly beloved fur baby crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Simba and his sister were my first bottle-raised babies 16 ½ years ago. He was a little clown, sitting on shoulders and "guarding" us when we were in the shower. He would sit in anything he could fit in. He is so very missed.

Awwww, Judith, so sorry about Simba. These little kitties sure capture our hearts, don't they? Do you have others? I have two Tabby girls -- Thelma and Louise. Both pound rescues. Simba sure was a cutie.

Judith, I’m so sorry to hear about your sweet baby. It’s so hard to lose our fur babies. He is very beautiful. Sending you many hugs during this hard time.

Judith -

So very sorry about the loss of Simba. Our 4-legged family members mean so much to us. He has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, and you will remember all the wonderful memories.

What a cute basket Jean!

Linda - I wish I had a craft room to organize. My living room is a craft explosion right now LOL!!

Judith - so sorry to hear about Simba. We have an outside cat that loves to sit in everything like Simba did. It's quite funny to see!

Krista - that is looking really cute! I hope you have it finished.

I'm having issues uploading pictures so I guess I'll try again later.

Oh Krista . . . Your advent calendar is just too cute for words. The kids are going to have so much fun with it.

Just received this from a gal pal today. What a clever idea me thinks . . .

So far today I've paired up 4 quilt tops and backings to take to one of my long arm quilters tomorrow night at Guild. There are 3 children's quilts and 1 Christmas quilt, so far. I have to sew 2 more rows of blocks to another Christmas quilt by tomorrow so I can take it to her, also. I am trying to send all the tops I have made to the long armers. The 2 Christmas quilts are made with a mixture of blocks from previous MJF block swaps - some 9-patches and some Christmas blocks from at least 2 different block exchanges.
