Grace, I had some Amazon gift cards so I ordered from there. I bought the cheapest material at about $4 a yard.
My husband helped - he held a garbage bag that had the new pillow in it while I scooped the feathers directly into it. There wasn't much loss of down.

I finished the outline on my advent calendar squares. And started the boarder. It’s taking me a little longer than expected, but I hope to finish the boarder this week. I also got the little books ordered that will go in each day! It’s making me excited for Christmas.

I'm starting on the candy cane boarder. It's very pretty but a little time consuming. I'm hoping to have this part finished today.

Thanks Judith. I still haven’t finished. It’s kind of a pain. The yarn gets twisted and makes it hard to do a lot before I have to untwist it. Maybe I’ll finish this weekend.

That does look like a tricky boarder but it sure looks nice.

I've been sewing gift bags. I'm putting together some little packages to donate to the crisis center for Christmas. I will have 25 for adults and 20 for kids when they're all done.

Thank you all! I still didn’t finish but I am now officially half way done with the candy cane boarder. My hubby is gone this week on a work trip so I’ll have more time to myself at nights to get it done.

Heather you are so sweet to make those bags. Are you putting stuff inside them or is the center?

I have done that edge finish. I found it a little tricky at first. I love the effect.

I finished making an afghan for my job coach's wedding. Without her, I would have never considered applying for the job I have now.

Can you do a closer up picture Marie? I'd love to see the stitch design. It looks like it might be lacy. It's a wonderful gift.

Krista - I'm filling them. I'll post a couple pictures when I get them uploaded onto the computer. I'm one of those silly people that doesn't have a smart phone or ipad. I have a camera LOL!

It's even prettier up close! Wow - single crochet - I bet that took a while! I made some afghans a couple years ago for Christmas that were a double crochet ripple and I thought I would never get them done LOL!

I made this one very wide and only half as long as I would normally so that two people sitting side by side may be covered by one blanket. I used two strands of yarn throughout most of this piece. I paired a thread-like yarn with a worsted or larger weight yarn. The green and metallic gold stripe is made with three stands - 2 of the green because they were DK weight and one of the metallic. I tried to balance all the yarn weights so that one part did not make another part sag.

Very pretty Marie. I bet she will love it.

Heather, your funny! It’s amazing how many things have changed over the last couple years and how many people rely on those smart phones and iPads.

I was incorrect. The stitch I used was a double crochet.

Grace, I can come visit and teach you.
