My Merit Badge Planner arrived today and I love it! It is so easy to use. I don't want to write in it because I know I'll want to use it with my grandchildren. It's just so nice!

Sandy, could you get another one that’s solely for you and the grandchildren and then use that one for you and your progress? I never thought of doing one with my children! That’s a great idea!

Upon which badges are you ladies working? I have only completed my Civics Challenge badge so far. I am just curious.

Hi Everyone,
I received my planner yesterday and was working on Knotty Farmgirls. Can anyone help me access the lending library? I need to get to MaryJanes Outpost page 68?

Connie, when I used the lending library I contacted Brian about it. Here is his email brianogle@maryjanesfarm.com

Terri, I am about to start on the cross stitch badge. I just invested in some beginner supplies. I haven’t found anyone to teach me yet so I will be learning from YouTube.

Hi Krista,
I am working on the Readin', 'ritin' and 'rythmatic badge and the grammar badge. I am not a big reader. So, step one in the first, to read 9 books has me going slow. But step one in the grammar is fun find a word of the day. I do this with my students at school. It is not new for me. Just a couple days for step one to be complete.

So far I have completed the beginner level for Blogging, Going Green,Shopping Green, Get It Together, and Emergency Preparedness. I have a couple of intermediate levels to apply for. Some things will need to wait while I save up for supplies.

What are you ladies planning to do with your badges? I'm thinking of making a quilt but I don't know how many there will eventually be and I've never even made a quilt. Anything simpler I might try?

Sandy, I love your idea of a quilt for the badges. I received my book last weekend and I love the size and how it is organized. I spent some time marking the badges I want to start working on this summer. I will probably start with gardening badge as I am knee deep in gardening season here in Southern California.

I think I will begin with a banner. I really like to color and this will provide another project to design and hang on a blank wall in our office/ hobby room. I also do not know how many of the badges there will be considering January means new badges to consider.

Sandy, I think I will check out the blogging badge. It sounds interesting.

Terri, I really like your idea of a banner. I had thought about some kind of quilt, etc., but then you wouldn't be able to add more badges. A banner would work well that way.

Krista, Thanks for information I will contact Brian today but ended up ordering 2 books to help me on my path to get my badges. The problem is there are so many I want to get started on. Like a child in a candy store. Thanks again, Spingal7

Terri, I like that idea. Eventually you could have a full wall of badges. Maybe eventually they could become a collage on the wall!

Connie, I hope you can get what you need! I feel the same way as you! I wish I had more hours in the day lol!

I used to get the badge information on the site for them. Is the January 2019 the newest badges does anyone one know?

I almost forgot to get my word of the day. Sandy, I am curious about the blogging badge. What is blogging? I get to teach a STEM class next year. I wonder if it is something to work on with those kids(7th graders)?.

Blogging is a place online where you self-publish anything you want. You can write about your badge work or your family or anything you like. You can include pictures, post to articles and other blogs you like, and people can leave comments. Click on the link in my signature to go to my blog. Leave me a comment so I'll know you were there. Fun!

I started with things I would have been doing anyway that had a corresponding badge. I'm also learning to knit, so hopefully I can add that one by the end of summer.

If I understand it correctly, no new badges were issued for 2020 because they were focused on getting the planner out.

Sandy, that is correct. They usually post new badges at the beginning of the year but decided to put out the planner this year instead.

My planner came today and ot is absolutely wonderful! I wasn't expecting it to arrive so soon, but I'm sure glad it did cause I got badges to work on! I love how easy it will be to keep myself organized.
