Has anyone else organized their home within an inch of its life during this quarantine? I have organized the pantry, my bedroom closet, the utility closet (cleaning closet), under the kitchen sink, the entry area, and a home office area I set up to work from home. *And I am not done.* My home wasn't unorganized to begin with, it's just that I've had time to make improvements since I'm here all day. Anybody else organizing to save your sanity?

Not so much organizing as downsizing, in a big way! I will have a truckload by the time I am done.

I have lots of things waiting in boxes until the drop-off places reopen. I won't miss a bit of it!

Grace,
I'm afraid if I put these boxes in the garage I will forget about them and then I'd forget to take them when the time comes.
I am still in downsizing mode. Now I need more boxes.

With more time at home, I am frequently wasting time online in stores and think to myself, Oh that is neat, I would like that. Then I tell myself, write is down and in a few days, go back to the idea and see if you still think that is necessary. Almost without exception, I am not really not that interested and then I think, “Do i want to keep accumulating more stuff?” Then the reality sets in that I still haven’t downsized what I have. Silly Me!!

I haven’t done any organizing since the quarantine started. Mainly because now my kids are home all day long and undoing every ounce of anything I do. I probably won’t get any organization done until school starts next fall.

Sandy you are a go getter for sure. If I had the energy I sure would organize mine just like you have done.

Instead it has become more of a mess in some areas. while others I've managed to organize namely my craft room.

We started making face masks as an income when my DH suddenly lost all his work in his remodeling business.

That lasted for one and half months. My living room is now our sewing room. We have three sewing machines set up in three different rooms of the house. Yikes!

Since we have to sanitize everything before it enters the house that has brought more clutter in rooms that otherwise were neat and tidy. It is really getting out of hand.

My DH finally has some little jobs where the people are very careful and follow the social distancing rules.

While he is out of the house I am going to try to get things tidy and back to something that looks like a well kept home again.

I put my neck and back out last week and have just begun to feel better. Not being able to go to the chiropractor like I used to do every 2 weeks has been a nightmare for me.

I really need his help to reorganize our garage and get all of my Etsy inventory in one place and out of my living space.

I can not lift anything heavy so that limits what I can do. I am in the process of organizing my fabric. That is light weight and my DH moves the containers back to my craft room and puts them on the shelves for me.

Winnie - I have made it my goal this year to not buy another piece of fabric or craft supply and use up what I have or sell it or donate it to a family with kids.

Grace - I am trying to get my DH to take things to the thrift store drop off. But in our area they are all closed. So he is just stacking them up in the garage again. I'm thinking I might just post on FB groups to get rid of them local and save us the trip and the space and my sanity.

We are all doing the best we can. This is such an unusual situation. I know I keep trying to make things as normal as possible, but, truthfully, there's nothing normal about it. Maybe we can organize now or maybe we will do that when it's all over. Taking care of ourselves is the most important thing. I use organizing as a coping strategy. Not everyone needs to do that. We're all doing our situational best.
