My fenced in garden is almost done...

need to pick up more wire and a couple more 2x4's..
Hubby also still needs to build the door/gate.. and I need to shop on-line for the perfect entry gate deco that says "Welcome to my Garden"
I have one of my iron patio sets in the garden.. in case I need to sit down, rest and enjoy a glass of wine... after a hard day of gardening!

Grace I'm with you "where I work that's where I sit too". That's going to be a good looking garden and the deer will be able to only look at it.

Grace, It looks like the same set I have. Mine is a bronze color! By the time I'm ready to sit, I look like I already had some wine! LoL!

My son gave us a bottle of wine he brought home from his last, before all this, trip to France. He also brought olive oil, lavender sap made from the olive oil and
candy. Also from here a spiral ham and a hyacinth plant that smells amazing. I didn't know he was coming. He didn't come in, we talked on our screened in porch at a safe distance. We always spend the holidays together and he wanted to give it so we could still be connected! How sweet! He's become an amazing man!

Oh Darlene,, that is sooooo awesome, your son is a Gem... to bring you back all those goodies from France,, oh my stars,, lucky you!
Let me know how the wine was...

It does feel weird to not be with family... I just got off the phone with my daughter,, and we were chatting about Easter Brunch.. She usually hosts and makes the traditional Fratatta, ham and veggi platter, and I bring the Deviled Eggs and dessert.. Neither of us have even begun to think about what to do for Sunday...
I think my DH and I will BBQ .. I have a Santa Maria pork roast in the freezer, and lots of frozen veggis,, and 'Green Jello"..lol!

Darlene, I forgot to mention,, I have 2 sets of white 'iron' patio furniture.. the one in the Garden is cast aluminum, lighter in weight... the other set, a seatee, 2 chairs and table,, are cast iron and weigh a ton!

I am toying with painting the set in the Garden Red... just for fun...

GRACE...Your Garden looks Amazing!!! Are you going to cover the top too??? That should keep the varmints out!!! At least you have a property that you
wander around on too...so, you don't feel cooped up from the whole "Stay inside" thing going on. I go for long walks and avoid other walkers. If I didn't
I would be going nuts. Last night I did 3.29 miles and today I hope to get 5 miles in.

DARLENE...your son is a Sweetheart. I have a couple boys like that too!! This will be the third Holiday in a row that I can't be with them. I am so bummed.
I'm missing my grandkids like crazy!! Trying to face time them ass much as possible. They like to call me at bed time and we all pray together. So Sweet!
I really am tired of this whole "Stay Home" thing. When you live in an Apt. like we do it is a bit Nuts!!

Have a lovely Easter Weekend Girls. It is going to be different...but we will make it work,
right???

Love And Easter Blessings,
Peggy

Peggy, Yes,, we will make it work out...

and today, I am taking advantage of the fresh air and have laundry hanging out on the clothes line..

We can create a new way of life,,, spending less time in front of the TV or out at eateries.. I am starting to enjoy my "weeding in my garden of weeden'.. transplanting bulbs,, and just puttering around the property.. taking in the fresh air and wee bit of sunshine...
and... digging through my stash of UFO's to see what I feel like working on next..

I have been cooking a lot more then ever,, but tonight,, it's Friday and I am going to pull out a frozen pizza for dinner...
it's all good! :>)

Grace and Peggy, it does feel so weird to not be with family. It would be worse if we had no way to communicate! I know we are thankful for what we have.
Having to spend more time with our husbands isn't bad if you have the right one. LoL! There's no place to do a trade-in that I know of, is there? LoL! I always cook, from scratch, for my old world Italian husband! Nothing new there.

Grace,Your garden looks great. All those post holes! Yikes! Good hubby! The bunny should make him those deviled eggs! Are you having a hard time finding plants? Sparse here.

Peggy, you always do a good porch garden. Will you do it this year? Patrick is in my prayers! We need a Prodigal page!

Have a Blessed Easter my Sisterfriends!

Your garden is looking beautiful Grace. With everything going on in the world Inkeep seeing "Garden for Victory" slogans like they had for WW 2 and I think they may be right. It might be the only food security we can count on.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

I am thinking,,, about using a 'vinegar wash' on the wood to give it that aged patina...
Hubby wanted to paint or stain, but I don't want to have the up-keep every year.. and besides, I like the natural weathered look
of the fencing.
Ahh, decisions, decisions....

Nice looking garden ; it even looks like it might be deer-proof. Dad had a six foot fence around his garden; one morning he went out to check it and found a mountain lion in it. He carefully retraced his steps back to the house. He checked a couple hours later and fortunately it was gone.

Judith,, Deer proof yes... mountain Lion??? none here,(whew) but we do have cougars and klutzy Moose... and raccoons, Marmots, weasels and badgers and other critters...
I plan to plant lots of Herbs and Lavender around the perimeter to discourage critters...

We planted rosemary and lavender up at our trailer and the critters have left it alone, but the deer are eating the honeysuckle.

Yep,, at our other house, the deer would eat everything expect the Iris.. so I got smart and planted Iris around the base of my ornamental trees... darn deer,, they figured they could stand on their back legs, just enough to nibble on the leaves on my trees!
Darn Deer!!!! lol!

Got 4 'Borge' starts trans planted out to the Garden,, also planted 1 Raspberry bush... I need 2 more... hope I will be able to find some..
Also, we got all the Tulips, Iris and Glads transplanted today.. and I dug up all the 'escaping' strawberries and trans planted them into the garden...Oh do I ache!!
Oh, and we also dug up all the Blue Bonnets (Lupin) and transplanted them.... We transplanted our Rizomes, bulbs and the blue bonnets in huge clumps.. I went outside a bit ago,, and no wilting,, everything looks good... tomorrow it is suppose to rain all day...
So my achy muscles will get the day off!

The garden looks great. You got a lot done. No wonder you hurt!
If I tell my husband not to touch my stuff, he does it anyway! If he doesn't like where something is, whack it's gone! Not nice!
One time I came home and a Hugh evergreen tree was gone. I told him I didn't want it cut because it was beautiful and I could watch and feed the birds there!
That was a whack! Sigh!

Darlene,, speaking of trees,, There is a pine (too) near our house,, and I would like to make it 'go away'.. but hubby loves it... My concern is that it might topple toward the house...
I told him we could plant a new, nicer tree in it's place, just not so near the house ...
Men! what are you gonna do with them? lol!
