I was at an estate sale a few years ago, I bought a very large wood bowl and these blocks. There was so much stuff there. Like huge pieces of furniture that would never fit in my house. I asked the girl where did all this stuff come from? She said her Aunt had lived in New York city on the Hudson, a very high end place to live in the 18oo's and early 19OO'S, and she took a truck down and brought a lot of it back here to sell. I like to think that my big bowl was used by the cooks and maids in the kitchen and the blocks were played with by rich little children.

Sweet thoughts, Nancy! I remember playing replicas of these blocks when I was small! Happy memories!

These blocks are big, easy to stack up. I looked up houses on the Hudson in NY and wow!! Pretty nice..

Lovely blocks Nancy. We have some newer versions of those kinds of blocks. I can only imagine the memories those blocks have.

Nancy, these blocks are wonderful! They have such a nice old wood patina as well. You got a lucky find indeed!

What a great find. Love the blocks. Enjoy.

Put your hair up in a bun, drink some coffee and handle it.
