I've been so blessed to have spent the last 2 weeks in Washington state visiting and bonding with my new granddaughter Sophia! I'm totally smitten!!! Now, to figure out how to move closer!!
I know this swap is posted later than usual but I thought I may try.
This new year has begun with multiple heartaches and troubles. At first I thought we'd create an atc using a trigger word or phrase to guide us through the year, helping us focus, grow, nurture, create, etc.
Or, you can choose to create any kind of ATC for a winter's theme.
Sign ups until January 24th, partners assigned January 25th and mail off 26th.
Artist trading cards (ATCs) are miniature pieces of art that are traded around the world. Artists create, trade and collect art at organized "swap" events, either in person or online. The only official rule for ATCs is the size: 2.5" x 3.5". Artist Trading Cards are the same format as modern trading cards (hockey cards or baseball cards). Alternately you may choose to use a round ATC Coin of 2.5" diameter. They are self-made unique works or small series, signed and dated on the reverse by the artist/producer, exchanged and collected by the people who participate in the collaborative performance.
Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are a conceptual art project initiated by the Swiss artist M. Vanci Stirnemann. He called it a Collaborative Cultural Performance. In 1997 he created 1200 cards by hand as part of an exhibit. On the last day, he invited others to create their own cards and trade with him during the closing reception. The movement took off, and today, there are ATC swaps in almost every major city around the world!
You can make ATCs with many different media including paper, fabric, felt, metal, wood, clay, paint, stamps, embellishments and more. There are tons of ideas and inspiration available online if you google ATC or Artist Trading Cards.

We have something in common in Washington! I have a granddaughter Sophia too! The difference is she has a twin sister named Sonia.
I just that was fun. They live in Battleground, what part of Washington does your Sonia. My granddaughters just turned 8.
Sophia is the one standing in the back of her sister Sonia.

Thank you April! I really miss them, I usually go up at Christmas to see them, but was in the Hospital at Christmas, Their birthday is on December 30, so I usually get to be there for both days. I really missed them this year. They want me to move there too. I will but can’t just yet.

Lol, Judith, quite a few phrases and thoughts went through my mind but the creative part of the ATC stumped me ..... until I listened to this great sermon last weekend! Bam! There it was! Hi Jill, I received your ATC's today! They are adorable! The apron one is already in one of my favorite personal cook books! Thank you for the face mask and chocolates as well - so sweet!

Darlene, I received your wonderfully snowy ATC- there’s something about blue, blue skies and falling snow that I will never get tired of- thank you! Thank you for all of the extras, too. Love the penguin wallet- that looks kind of tricky to make. And the magical crystals that make “snow”- never seen anything like that before, but of course we just have a lot of regular snow here in the northland to play with. I should bring it out in the summer and tease friends with it- “You’re too hot? Not me, I got this nice snow to stick my hands in and cool off with.” :)
