Nancy, I believe the same thing. I was telling her the night before that her sister ( my Alaskan malamute that I had to put down last year) was waiting to see her and to play with her again. It helps ease my pain knowing they are together and playing again and that I will see her again myself.
Thank you all for your kind words. I'm so grateful to have you all for support during this time. I find that when I'm not staying busy my mind wanders and I start to cry. So I have been trying to stay busy to help with the pain and sadness. My kids are really missing her as well. Breaks my heart for them.

I'm so so sorry to read this Krista!! I know some time has passed but really, it never gets easier no matter what people say. The void is there and they'll always be missed. My heart aches for you

Thank you so much for your kind words. Each day I cry a little less, but I definitely have a huge void still. I miss her so much and wish I could have had more time. My kids still ask me where she is. My oldest will tell the other two that she is sleeping and that she is ok. It's so sad for them.

Grace and Darlene, thank you so much. We are doing ok. We have had such a large void in all of us, especially the kids and my other dog, so we decided it was time to get another. I will share her with you all when she comes home. I do find myself crying and missing my Zakell a lot, but I know she wouldn’t want the kids to not have a friend and for my other dog to be alone. We did name the new one after Zakell. Helps keep her close to our hearts.

Krista, that's good. Healing for all of you including the dog. They mourn too! You never get over the loss of a pet because they're more like another
one of the kids! Some people think that's crazy but not to all the fur mom's out there! We always had 2 dogs to keep each other company. Good luck
with your new pup. Can't wait to see the pics.
