If you're interested in creating and swapping a junk journal made from an altered vintage book, please sign up! I found lovely vintage books at a local thrift shop for $2.00 ea!
Please create something as beautiful as you would love to receive. You may alter this vintage book anyway you can imagine to create a beautiful junk journal which would include places to journal and the ability to add photos, memorbilia, etc. Please feel free to add buttons, lace, fabric, ribbon, tags, stickers, and any other medium you can image to beautify! Please keep in mind, the pages may be brittle due to the vintage age, however, I found if you glue 3-4 pages together to create one thicker page, this works well! I also tore out every other signature to create space to add pretties!
Sign up through May 24th.
Mail out by June 7th.
I will draw random names on the 24th and each farmgirl will have one partner to send to!
(If you sign up and then are unable to follow through for any reason, please let me know as soon as possible before the mail out date)

Hi Jennifer, a junk journal is a type of journal, scrapbook, smashbook where one would journal, record thoughts, memories and enclose anything worth keeping, memorabilia, family photos, quotes, etc. If you search junk journal on pinterest there are many ideas there you can scroll through. I hope that helps!? :-)

Hi Jennifer, you would alter the book pages anyway you can imagine up!! I made myself one recently after seeing one on pinterest - I'm hooked, need I say!? Because the pages were a bit brittle on the vintage book I used, I glued 3 pages together to make one page more durable. I also tore out every other signature to allow room for embellishments, tags, pockets, etc., and still allow the book to close to a somewhat chunkalicious position. I decorated each page and added pockets, tags and additional papers to journal on. I also added some chalk paint to random pages to allow for journaling and stamped some pages as well. Mine turned out to be more of a smash book per se, to add as you go, more than you write, but I do have room for both options. Hope that helps! ( I'm dealing with tons of RA pain, but some stronger help is due next week. So hopefully I will begin to feel like doing things again.)
