Hey ladies. I have been working on another project lately and have been working with a crochet diagram. I looked the symbols up and found a cheat sheet. But I cant figure out what the star/ asterisk is suppose to mean. Do any of you know what it means? It's in the bottom left hand corner of the L.
This is strange. Is it an old pattern or a newer one? Where was it found? What will the end result be? Based on what I see here, I can only conclude that (1) it shouldn't be there, (2) it is a typo or (3) I don't know. I do not know. I am so sorry.
Hi Krista, I think the asterisk means repeat the row you just did. The arrow thingy at the bottom looks like START HERE. You then see what looks like a foundation chain of 18, then chain to turn and single crochet 18. The asterisk is next then again chain one to turn and another 18 SC. BUT.... The next row is different as the last three stitches look like slip stitches. After that I am a little lost. I hope this helps.

Marie, I am not sure if it's old or new. I found it on Pinterest. The pattern is to make a letter L. I am trying to crochet letter to spell out luck. Let me grab some additional images from my phone.
Nancy, I would agree with you but it doesn't seem to apply like that to the letter C which has the asterisk as well. I will show a picture of that. As far as where the slip stitches are I believe you single crochet up until the slip stitch area and you chain 8 to make the pattern go out. I could be way wrong though. This is all new to me. I did try it that way and it did work so who knows lol!
