Well my treat/reward to myself for spending the better part of Wednesday writing out my Christmas cards,,, was to go to our local German Deli over in Spokane.
I stocked up on my Lebkuchens, Marzipan, Choco Tops and Brandy Beans and Pear brandy candy... Whoot Whoot! I am in 'sugar high heaven'...

WOW! That looks amazing. I wish there was a place like that around me. I agree with Krista - I think I'd try the pear one's first. Those Choco Tops things look good too.

Are you part German Grace? My Grandpa's side was German. My Grandma wasn't and she said she always thought Grandpa's family was talking about her when they spoke German. I thought my Grandpa used to say the blessing in German when we had big family meals (like Thanksgiving). Turns out he was just mumbling through it because he really didn't like doing it in front of everyone LOL!!!

Heather, my mother is German.. I was born in Stuttgard Germany and when I was almost 3 my parents brought me to the USA. My mother got her Citizenship in Kileen TX and so I was made a Naturilized Citizen at age 3. My true maiden name is Grace Gertrude Wolf -Jackson.
Long story short.. I have family in Germany as well ad my childhood BFF.
naturally I love my German heritage and am proud to be a US Citizen.
But, sorry America, when it comes to pasteries and chocolates, I love Germany ones best! But then American "goodies " are a blend of many countries... which is also good. Oh Heck! I love anything covered in chocolate! HaHaHa!
