I planted a variety of milkweed that does not spread in my front flower bed this summer. It became covered in monarch caterpillars! The other day I was pulling weeds and thinning my mint nearby when I "met" this beauty who had just come out of a cocoon. It's wings were still wet it seemed. It landed on me for a moment, rested in the mint for awhile, then took flight. So pretty!

Nicole, so pretty! I love monarch butterflies. They are so beautiful when they fly. Looks like your milkweed plant will bring you some beautiful surprises!

Beautiful pictures! Thank you for taking care of these caterpillars. They really need all the help they can get!

The agricultural center here in CT tagged some butterflies (how, I don't know. Must have been the size of a grain of sand!) They found a few of theirs migrated all the way down to Mexico! Amazing!!!
