Is anyone getting excited for the fall season yet? So many trees are starting to turn here already with the cooler weather we've been having!

Cleaned the front porch this weekend and broke out the fall wreath!

Planted 7 mums too - 4 hardy ones in the ground and 3 regular ones in place of the tomato plants I pulled out of my deck pots. Left all the marigolds around the edges of the pots since they are still doing really good!

I think I am going to put up fall decor Labor Day weekend! :)

Jaime pretty porch and wreath. I've had dried gourds out in my Yellow Rose Cottage for a couple of weeks now. Some on an old scale and the others are in a covered cake stand. This weekend I may hang the large fall wreath on the fence gate in front of the cottage. Gradually I'll decorate my front porch. Looking forward to finding the right pumpkins & large gourds to put next to the porch steps.

I am! After a very hot weekend, with summery weather and cool nights, today is the first day of school and it feels. Like. Fall. There is a cool breeze, lower temps in just the seventies, and a breeze blowing the first falling leaves. I will decorate soon...

I am so ready for fall, but our temps are still pretty high. Once we can finally get into the 70s then it will feel better. Hopefully by mid September we will be there. I am already using some fall inspired candles to help me out!

My favorite time of the year! I'm in the mist of a household "deep" clean and decluttering so I can start to decorate. I'm also craving soups and apple desserts.

How cunningly nature hides every wrinkle of her inconceivable antiquity under roses and violets and morning dew.

Fall is my all time favorite season. Even here in hot muggy Florida, come September 1, I start bringing out the fall decorations. Technically speaking, meteorologists say the beginning of Fall Season starts September 1 and ends November 30. The reason has to do with the big global changes in winds, cooling of land mass at the Arctic and water temps dropping up north. Works for me!!! LOL!! Today, I put a new wreath on the door and started burning my new apple cider candle. Oh my, it smells wonderful!

I also found online at Mrs. Meyer's, their fall fragrance called Apple Cider and ordered the dish soap, all purpose cleaner, hand soap, and candle so that my kitchen is going to smell great even when I am cleaning everything up. The other day, I also found the Jelly Belly Harvest selection mix and my favorite raisins to put in a basket by my computer. This weekend, I plan on bringing out more things and have fun. If I waited for cooler weather to reach Florida, it might me January of 2018!! LOL!!!

I forgot to mention that my coffee mug in this photo is full of my favorite Pumpkin Spice coffee from The Fresh Market grocery store. They make the best blend every year!

Ohhh...Winnie....I wasn't going to do much because like you its still hot and muggy and all the yard work still has me in summer mode but I so love fall! I think I will follow suit tho and maybe that will summon some cooler weather! Hope so. Its been a long hot wet summer! I'm ready for a change!

I'm SO excited for the arrival of fall. The soaking, Pacific Northwest rains will return and I'll be bundled up in sweaters with a scarf always near by, boots on my feet, and greeted with the smell of woodsmoke in the air. It's my favorite season. Fall is magical, really!

Can't wait for more cooler temps. I have been busy doing major projects in the house and haven't started my fall decorating yet. Since fall lasts till December 21st, though of course I do change to Christmas Dec 1st, I guess I won't be late. Here in the mid atlantic/northeast the temps will be cooler before we know it!

We don't do Halloween either CJ. But alas, I have not been able to put out all my fall decor because of the renovations we are doing. Hopefully will be done by the end of October so I will get it out for Thanksgiving.

Krista,
We just don't like the focus of Halloween and believe it conflicts with our faith.

Denise - The pumpkin-ish color on the back wall is called Pronghorn. I can't remember the other lighter color name off hand but I'll check tonight. I have the paint chips for the whole house saved in my office!

Jaime, That's a great idea! Is it from Lowe's or somewhere like that? I really like it and the light color too.

Ugh, forgot to check paint chips last night! So sorry! I have it on my official to do list for tonight!

We picked out the Pronghorn color at Lowes but just had Menards color match it. I was so proud of DH for being willing to use a bold color like that, even on an accent wall - he's normally Mr. Neutral when it comes to wall color :)
