NOTE: 10"-squares are known as layer cake squares in the quilting world.

This swap involves no sewing (your project is determined by what you want to make with your fabric squares) - only buying fabric and cutting it into 10" squares. Please buy 100% cotton quilting fabric and cut off both selvage edges before cutting squares so there is NO selvage in the 10" squares. (NOTE: The selvages are the two tightly woven edges of the fabric - opposite the folded edge.)

This swap is for 10" squares of any mens-themed fabric suitable for a man's quilt. This can be cars, trucks, hobbies, crafts, etc. Each person who signs up will send two different 10" squares of Mens fabrics to each of the farm girls who sign up. A yard of fabric will make 12 squares (with a little left over), so the amount of fabric you will need to purchase will depend on how many sign up. Please join in - all are welcome.

Signups begin today: April 27
Signups end: Noon, Thursday, May 18
Mail out No Later Than: Wednesday, May 31

If you have not yet participated in one of these 10"-square fabric swaps, when you sign up by posting in this thread please immediately send me your name/address/phone. The name/address is so I can send a complete list to each farm girl for mailing out to everyone; the phone number is only in case I need to contact you for any reason.

We have been enjoying these swaps and it is fun seeing all the different fabrics we choose. I hope you will join us.

NOTE: When you join in, please "Subscribe" to this topic so that you will receive all communication regarding the topic. And we all like to hear from you when you send out fabric and when you receive fabric. And please post pics of what you make in the Showcase thread. You can go to the "Showcase" thread for using this link. http://maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=73817

I know, I am excited. Like I told you, hopefully I can make a throw for Triston. I made him a pillow for Easter using a block from our travel squares swap. I made one for Bay with the high heels block from a swap last year and Had got one using the bicycles with flower baskets. I love our swaps.

Jana, our next swap will also be for men's blocks, only it will be for men's hobbies (I guess that's a good overall category) - hunting, fishing, tools (woodworking, mechanics,??), other hobbies. How about that? And, I think beer would probably fit into one of those categories. LOL!

EVERYONE! Marilyn and I have talked and I have decided to change the swap guidelines for the men's fabrics a little. It will not only be cars/trucks. This swap is now for ANYTHING related to men (in the way of fabric) - cars, trucks, farm equipment, hobbies (woodworking, etc), and whatever else I may have forgotten. I hope this will entice more people to sign up for this swap.

Please add me too I need some more masculine fabric for a quilt for my son in law, or some throw pillows, my daughter requested different seasonal pillow covers, so I don't want to leave him out.

This is my grand puppy with one of the pillow covers I made recently for my daughter, she wanted them to match a table runner I had made for her. Glad Archer likes the pillow!

Denise, glad to hear you have a grand puppy too. Mine is a grey Pit with blue eyes. He is very sweet. He loves to ride on the four wheeler with my son. I guess he is his grand puppy and my great grand puppy...as he is grand daughters dog.

He's a sweet boy. He loves me because I'm allergic to him, but I still visit because he is so cute and sweet. He has the best ears. I think he has some pit in him, but I think mainly red coon hound. He definitely follows his nose.

I will be out of town starting Mother's Day and hopefully will have WiFi so I can get the address list out quickly. If not, I am warning you - the list may be late. And I get back from vacation late on the 27th, so I know mine will be mailed out later than most.

I hope we get at least 2 more people signed up so we have 12 blocks.

Poops! Since I am on vacation I forgot to keep track and this men's fabric swap closed on the 18th. There are only four of us. What would everybody think if we each sent two of each square to everyone so we'd be sending two squares each of two different fabrics? That way we would have 16 squares to use in a quilt. Let me know what you think. I will not send out the list until I have heard from all of you. Thanks for joining.

BtW I just purchased my fabric for the swap.

OK! That's all 4 of us. I will cut and mail each of you 2 sets of my fabric squares as soon as I get home from vacation. I'll send the list today. Then we will each have 16 squares - enough to make a quilt or other things with.

I am so sorry, Rebecca - I must have missed you. I was in a daze getting readdy for vacation. You are welcome to join - you are IN! Would you be agreeable to 2 of each of the 2 fabrics? We decided to do that since there were so few of us.

WOO HOO! That means we will have 20 squares for this quilt. Nice 4 x 5 square quilt.
