Hi Farmgirls!

Well we are in the middle of that history making nasty ol' blizzard. I put a giant pot of my Savory Beef Stew on the stove, made pancakes and eggs this morning, and we have the wood burning stove going full force. Hubby tackeled the driveway with the tractor with the snow blower, and I shoveled eight inches off the decks about an hour or so ago. Both look like there is ten more inches. . I keep thinking it's a farmgirl workout and I'll get skinny thighs, lol!

The governor issued a travel ban this morning. Lived here 25 years and this is probably one of the worst big storms I have seen.
I do worry about my hubby Kim when he's out there, but he has to keep up on it or the snow gets too thick.

Unfortunately we hear some sleet starting. That is what makes things icky. I just hope we don't lose power. We will be okay, its just more of an iriritating inconvenience.

Other than that, the house is cozy, my family is home, and we are enjoying a day together. I am making two loaves of homemade honey bread. Later I will work on some sewing. I will put my Featherweight up next to the stove while we watch a movie.

Farmgirl Hugs,
Nicole

I heard about this storm on the news! So crazy. I hope you and your family stay safe and warm during this storm. Your food sounds delicious. Have fun sewing!

Hello from snowy, windy N.E. Ohio!20 with a bitter wind-chill. BUT... not as bad as all the states east of us. Went out and shoveled the walks. Only about 4 inches out there but it's on top of a couple of inches of snow we had left from last week. Got a Crockpot full of pinto beans and ham cooking for later. Probably make cornbread to go with it. Gooood cold weather eatin'!
Stay safe and be warm Farm-Buds!

Sorry to hear the east coast has gotten hit so hard with the harsh snow and cold. Be safe.

Farmgirl friends are fun.

How are all the Farmgirls doing in the northeast? Has the snow/blizzard calmed down overnight?

Me again... it's purty and sunny today in N.E. Ohio, after that snowy 2 days we had. Yesterday could have been much worse. It snowed alllll day BUT it was that real fine stuff, so not much accumulation. Today is crazy windy so it's blowing in circles. It doesn't know which way to go. Not complaining because it blew my sidewalk plum clear! *giggle*
Hope everybody N.E. of me is ok!

The cold is even blowing down to Florida - today it was so cold I had to wear socks.

We had approximately 12" of snow in Northeastern NY. I just love it when Mother Nature unleashes her snow flake powers forcing me to slow down and admire her beauty.

Hoping everyone is safe and warm! Cheers!

Well... we never lost power thankfully BUT the snow was too much and a stick got caught in dh's motor of the tractor and busted it. SO our driveway did not get done. We got 24 inches with ice on top. My driveway is a long slope with a curve. No plows. Ended up stuck in it with the car yesterday, fell flat on my back, and hubby and I ended up using shovels and a pick for three hours to get me free. The roads are fine now, but we have a lot of snow everywhere and more to come Saturday. Sigh... I need spring!

Farmgirl Hugs,
Nicole
