Check this out. I am going to make this skirt. Long skirts made of 100% cotton can be so cool to wear. Having a jean that you know fits you but may be stained, cut up, can easily be the yoke for this skirt. You'll see a lot of ideas on Pinterest. Let's do this!

One of my apron customers had me make one of these for her from jeans and skirt she had. Turned out cute. I've not seen it on her, I hope she's happy with it.

Personally, I'm more likely to just wear the jeans.

I have some MJ fabrics, but may need to do a patch-work skirt because they aren't large pieces.

Linda has a great idea, a patchwork skirt! Let's get sewing, maybe spring will come sooner. So not liking all this grey.

I also saw today a skirt made from a jean skirt because she wanted the top denim part longer. so that is another idea. Some of us don't have the body to wear a denim mini skirt!
Was watching a live hatching of a rare chicken from Normandy, France. Two babies. It's like watching paint dry but it was worth it. gorgeous chickens. I own doxies, they don't mix with chickens. They heard the chicks squeaking during and after hatching, all doxie ears were open and alert.

I had one like this oooh maybe 30 years ago. I loved it and wore it a lot. It looked nice and trim on my waist (much smaller waist back then) and then had lots of room for movement. That's a great idea to make one.

I just found some jean skirts, allows you to make a longer denim yoke, more slimming? I have some batik rayon challis that would drape beautifully. Just need time, ladies. Will post photo when done.

That's great, Sylvia. I have the jeans top (or two) - when I get back from vacation I hope to make one. They do look very comfortable.

What ratio of gathers to jeans did you use? I don't want to make it too gathered but it needs to make it around my hips. LOL!

Those look great Sylvia. You're getting me inspired to search through my stash of old jeans to see if I can find a pair that will work.
