Welcome, Marie! I'm just south of you in Aumsville (right outside of Salem). I'm looking forward to earning my first and hopefully a few merit badges this year. I'm sure your new little grandchild has arrived by now. My grandson is due to arrive any time. :)

Hi Audra!

Congratulations! Grandarlings are the BEST! Yes, we went to meet our new granddaughter on January 7th, though we spent most of the time with her big sister, who will be 3 in March and is great fun. We made cookies and ravioli together, went to the zoo, took her to ballet, and had many, many tea parties. She a very girly girl.

So far, I have gotten badges in apron, cheesemaking, and emergency preparedness. I just ordered some tatting needles so I think that will be my next focus. I read about tatting in Mary Jane's book and it looked like fun. What merit badges are you planning to work toward?

There are quite a few I'm interested in working towards, but a couple stand out to work on soon: crochet and ink slinger. :) I also realize that I fulfilled one or two last year! So I may claim them or just start fresh this year. :)

I love the term grandarlings! Two of mine are 2 year olds and one of mine was born in September. :) Lots of fun, and they love coming over to grandma's house and seeing the goats. :)
