Here are the star blocks that I am going to make. I will use either gold, white, or red prints that speak solid for the "sashing" and 2 Christmas prints for the stars/background. I can use the same sashing for all squares or alternate the sashing. I think it will take 16-18 stars plus a border for each queen-size bed runner. (These are some I made for a demo using a girls cowgirl print and a red with a white sashing.

These blocks are made like we used to draw stars in school. I think they are pretty easy. You start with 2 squares and 1" strips of sashing fabric. I think these squares will turn out about 9-10" when done - I need to check it out. I previously used 13" squares and got 12-1/2" unfinished star squares.

This was my third fabric swap and I am impressed with the variety of fabric I received during each...and no repeats! This has been so much fun, but now I need to get sewing. Thank you all!

Here is a picture of my first two Christmas Star pairs. Using scant 1/4" seams they sized out to 9-1/2", and that would finish at 9".

NOTE: The cross-points do not always line up perfectly, but that doesn't show as much as you might think. Also, matching up the 2 pieces each time at the edges, in order to get the largest square possible, is tricky, but not impossible.

I have only heard from one person about future swap preferences. Please let me know VIA EMAIL which type you would prefer: fabric squares, bricks, or strips or 6-1/2" scrappy blocks (9-patch or as I pictured in the quilt). With everything happening in the holiday season, our next swap will probably be announced in December but not sent out until January.

Ladies, I am so sorry I've been missing in action. My seizures went a bit out of control and I've had a difficult time processing simple everyday things. MY daughter is helping me get these out this week. Again, I sincerely apologize for being late with these.

Audra -

Thank you for letting us know. I am so sorry to hear of your medical problems and hope you can soon get some much needed relief. I hope that you have been receiving the Christmas squares from everyone and that they have brought a small bit of Christmas cheer to you. We look forward to seeing your squares, but we want you to take care of yourself, too. That's what is important.

Here is my latest star pair. Notice that some stars are a bit wonkier than others. If one of the fabrics has larger items that you want to try and not chop into pieces, I always put the most of that fabric on top of the pairs before I cut them. For this pair I wanted to try and keep as many cowgirl hats in one piece as possible, so the star leans a bit more than the others. LOL!

Wow, nice stars, Linda. You are really good!
I think you should just decide on the swap and whoever wants to sign up will! All the fabric addicts will show up! LOL!

Audra, so sorry you are having health problems. Whenever you get the blocks out is fine by me. Take care and feel better. You are in my prayers.

On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me, a gift card to Hobby Lobby's fabric department! Ha Ha!

So nice to come home on sunday and have fun envelopes to open!! Thank you for the fun christmas fabrics from Darlene M, Christy, and Tammy.
I finished the top for my tree skirt, just need it quilted, and finished a all hanging for thanksgiving. Sewing binding in a table runner for my daughter, also completed some smaller projects. I will post pictures later today.
Linda the stars are awesome! cool pattern.
For the next swap I am pretty open, can't think of anything specific at the moment. I need more coffee, but the cough is almost gone and I can get some sleep.

If anyone did not receive squares from me let me know, I have extra fabric so can send again.
