Hoping I am posting my images in the correct place. These are some of my images which demonstrate  the techniques and requirements for the beginner level shutterbug merit badge.

Sarah!!!! your um, beginner photos are fantastic. My goodness what will your expert photos look like:)? Tell us about the building in the first photo? Your photo of the bubbles is prize-winning.

Wow! Thanks so much for the compliments!! I am really flattered. :) I got interested in photography several years back actually. My husband studied photography in college and has taught me a lot over the past few years. We have a wonderful time visiting places together and capturing images in our own way and comparing the way we saw the location. To apply for the beginner badge I refreshed on the terminology and the techniques and looked through my photographs and found some images which I felt demonstrated these things. Hopefully that is the best way to do it as I have already been taking photos for awhile. I wanted to put that out there so it didn't look like this was the first time I took photos.
The chapel is known as the Chapel on the Rock or as St. Malo Chapel. It is located near Estes Park Colorado (not too far from where we live). I am honestly not sure when it was built, but it is clearly rather old. It has survived forest fires and mudslides and still stands strong and beautiful. The image I posted here represents a really fun day for Chris and I, we planned the trip to go photograph the church and hiked nearby.
The bubble photograph is kind of a lucky accident. We had a bubble maker which clipped onto our fence and the little girl next door liked to play in it. I ran out of bubble liquid and added dishsoap and water to the machine. I was a bit heavy handed on the soap and the bubble machine malfunctioned creating a giant pile of huge bubbles on the patio. I of course grabbed my camera and began to click away! :)
The other images are of our fur babies, Charmer in the hammock enjoying a nice summer day, Izze stalking along the fence and Bonita romping around while glamping at Pawnee Grasslands.

Virginia, I have a Canon EOS 50D. It's been a great camera and I have been very happy with it. The downside is a pretty heavy body, and added weight of lenses.
