Hi ladies!

Wonderful scarf Krista,

Love the ear warmer Justine

Sorry I dissapeared, I had to go to the states rather suddenly. I'm home now and ready to work on more badges!! Also while I was gone I got awarded all the badges I applied for a few weeks ago and Sydney got all her young cultivator badges!! Exciting, I think my next project is figuring out how to display them!

Jill, I know what you mean, lol! I didn't realize until talking with my daughter that for each badge we stitch another outline in a different color around the original badge. What a neat way to do it!

I am hoping to look at my list again today, to see what I can apply or work towards for this month. You ladies are doing beautiful work! I did finish a square washcloth, but there were a few rows that I think were bigger than the first :)

Denise,
Way back when I started embroidering my badges, I decided I wanted to do something different than the hexagon stitching for each level. That's why I sew buttons on mine, one for each level.

Thank you, Sabrina.

Shannon, did you get a chance to look at your list? I finished my first washcloth this weekend and my edges still are not straight. We will get a hang of it soon! Can’t wait to see your work!

CJ, how are your merit badges coming along?

Denise, I know you can do it! One day you will look back on this project and smile knowing that you kicked butt at making it! What seems to be the problem?

Thank you for all the wonderful compliments on my ear warmer. Winnie, you and I are thinking the same way, I'm thinking I might give it to my daughter-in-law who has a lot of hair and it would probably fit her perfectly.

Congratualations to all of you on your badges. Denise, congratulations on being last week's featured Merit Badge Awardee. Everyone is doing such a great job.

I got really busy last week but I was able to complete my beginner Let's Get Physical Badge. I've been working my way up to 10,000 steps and finally hit the mark today. I'm ready to tackle the intermediate badge next. I have a few others I want to work on and apply for but I need to go back over everything. I still have badges I need to print off and get embroidered too.

Krista,

That may be as straight as the edges get. Crocheting in rows tends to leave a somewhat rough edge most of the time (you CAN get it straight but it takes more effort and even then doesn't always work-at least that is my experience). The best way to get a straight, smooth edge is to work an edging all the way around the piece at the end. I like to do shells or scallops because it covers up mistakes well :).

I didn't mean to be lax in my thank yous for your congratulating me but I didn't actually know about the weekly merit badge awardee. I do read the Raising Jane journal. I see it on Facebook and must have missed it. So a belated thank you!

CJ, what are you collecting for your Collect It Badge? I would like to start on my Beginner UFO Badge sometime soon. It sounds like a very motivating badge.

Justine, that is a lot of steps! Way to go! How are you getting your steps? I should consider walking more. I have some baby weight to lose!

Sabrina, I honestly had no idea. I learned something new today and will have to look into that. I really want my edges to look straight. Must be my OCD! Thank you for letting me know!

this - next thing I know somethings undoing it!!
a joey was having a hop fit caught his foot on my yarn!!
I told the little boy...do you have any idea how long
it took me to do that!? he stopped when I shrieked looked at me like.... what's the big deal?
think I will work on another badge. lol
I admire you sisters who crochet !!

Krista, I guess it is possible I just haven't figured it out but my stuff never comes out perfectly straight. Bugs me too but I've sort of learned to accept it. Just do single crochets all the way around and it will look straight. I love crocheting in the round because everything is smooth and even!!

Krista,
My main collection is angels . . . been collecting them for a few years. Started with a handmade one that hangs in my bathroom!

Thank you Teresa! I'm so sorry about all your hard work getting messed up. That is so frustrating. You will get it. If I can do you it, you can do it!

Thanks Sabrina! I'm going to try that. I want to go back and fix my washcloth now. I want to make sure I can fix those edges before I attempt a larger project.

I doubt that, CJ! I bet your crochet looks amazing. Angels a great thing to collect. They are so beautiful and graceful. Did you make the one in your bathroom?

Oh, Krista, there is NOTHING amazing about my crochet. I never really got the hand of it, got frustrated and gave up. Don't know if I'll try again or not . . . remains to be seen! :D

WHen I downloaded and printed out the APPLES badge template I discovered it was smaller than previous badge templates. I asked Brian about it and they resized it to where it's the same as the older ones . . YAY!
THANKS BRIAN!
