Brian and I discovered that my Expert "Collect It!" badge application had been approved about two weeks ago but there was a glitch and it didn't get posted until today and I didn't find out that it had been approved until I saw it on the "Awardee's" list in yesterday's "SISTER" issue.
Thanks Brian for finding it all!

I have started working on my matching hat to the diaper cover. For this, I learned how to do the magic circle. It took me 3 times to get it figured out. Each time I pulled the string to make the circle it looked like a giant knot. Now that I have figured it out I love making circles!

Good for you Krista! You did a great job. I am still working on my knitted gift. Haven't started the Christmas stocking yet. I still need to find the pattern again.

CJ, I have a question for you. I looked on fabric.com and they don't have anything called "super muslin" if you have time can you check out the site and see if any of the muslin choices there look or sound like what you use? I guess worst case I'll ask my mom to go to walmart and look but I'm trying to order from there.

Anyone have suggestions on what type of fabric to use for an apron?

Sabrina,
I can do that . . .it'll be later today. I like to use cotton blends or cotton for aprons. The blends usually are better for less wrinkles and colorfastness on prints. I ALWAYS prewash ALL of my fabric BEFORE cutting anything so you don't have shrinkage later on.

I'll get back to you with what I find out!

Thanks!! No rush! I don't have the apron pattern yet, I'm hoping someone stateside can find it on sale so I don't have to pay extra for it with shipping on etsy. Then I'll find a cotton blend for it.

Sabrina,
Here it is at a different website.

http://www.fabricdepot.com/super-muslin

HOWEVER, you can use any fabric you like. I just recommend looking for something that's not a loose weave, or lightweight, but you don't want it to be a really tight weave or heavy. I just like the Super-Muslin because it's what I like to use.

Wishing you the best on your hunt!

Thanks! I'll think about getting it from there, the benefit of the other site is I can get free shipping if I spend $35 :).

Sabrina,
In looking at the fabric.com site, I see the "unbleached muslin, natural" option. It is 108" wide and priced at $6.78 per ard, sale ending 3/7. Described as being good for quilt backing, curtains, dust ruffles, etc.
I've never used that particular one, but it just might be a good option as well.

P.S. Read the customer reviews. I read one that said it was "too thin for quilt backing and would not purchase again". Soooooo, I don't know!

I have been missing for a few weeks and have some serious catching up to do reading the threads. Krista, you are going to town on your crochet! I love the diaper cover, how cute! Congratulations everyone on your badges. I really need to apply for mine now that things are getting back to normal around here.

Thank you, Denise. I am glad to hear that your knitting is still going good.

Thanks Sabrina. I have come to find that rounds are quite fun. I am thinking that I should now be able to make one of those toys. That makes me really excited. I hope you can find the fabric that you need. I don’t have any suggestions since I have not made an apron before.

Thank you, Justine. Glad your back. Hopefully you can get all your badges applied for. Any new ones in mind?

Krista-yes I'm sure you could make toys now! Also I wanted to tell you I found a way to crochet in rows and have it come out more even, not perfect but a lot more even than normal. I'm working on making a tutorial for it but I'm having issues with my videos not focusing right. I'll let you know when it is done.

I spent some time over the weekend working on the hat! It's coming along so nicely.

I have come across a new problem. I keep finding myself adding new crochet projects to my list!! It's crazy!

Krista the hat is looking great!

Sabrina, I usually get my muslin for quilt backing and such at Joann's when they have a sale. I went and got a bolt some time ago of unbleached muslin for .99 a yard. Always keeping my eyes open for more. I have a little left yet and will use that for my badges.
