Greetings Sisters!

I think I have seen several requests on how to make lavender wands. This is what I do: (I hope this has not been posted already, if so, I'm sorry!)

First of all you'll want an uneven number of wands. Five to seven is good. You will want the stems on your lavender to be about seven or eight inches long, this is not including the lavender head. Take a long length of silky ribbon, (I stick with a lavender colored ribbon), about 18 inches, and tie it immediately under the lavender heads, tight, but not too tight. Take each stem and bend it up. You want the bend underneath each head, as close as you can. Then you just weave the ribbion in and out, in an over-under weave. You are going to incase the head of the lavender inside the stems, you can tie your ribbon off after the heads have been completely incased, or you can continue on down the stems. If you run out of ribbon, you can tie on another length and continue. Once you think you have enough ribbon on your lavender, tie it off, in a small bow, or make a loop for hanging.

I hope this make scents? Get it, scent...lavender....

I would love to see a photo if you have one to share. That sounds really beautiful.

Thank you, Virginia!
Someday I hope to grow enough lavender to make these. I've seen photos and they are lovely.
:)

Hey Rachel!

Unfortunately, I do not have any photos. If you check google images, there are some very pretty ones. Some wrap only the heads of the lavender, some wrap all the way to the ends of the stems.

I wish I could get lavender to grow, I have tried several times. I'm afraid Wisconsin, at least where I am living, is a bit too moist for lavender. (sigh)

Rachel,

Yes they are. I think they are also better looking than what mine have turned out to be, but maybe it's the photographer/photography? Lol!

Wow! Stunning! I had not seen/heard of that before. Might be something to do with a farmgirl chapter.
