I have had to be away for a long time but hope to be back more regularly now. I have been reading all the posts on this thread and so look forward to the Jubilee celebration! CJ, your banner is incredible and I love the apron Grace made and Sara's banner. So look forward to being involved again and what better way to get back into the swing of things? I am thinking about the apron flag. Love that suggestion so will have to get to work!

I have always loved old barns and even more the ones with advertisements on the roofs, so with the Jubilee I decided to do that very thing. Now there was no way I could paint the Jubilee banner on my barn so I did the next best thing, I put it on my duck house.

What's even better our pond is at the front of our property so it will be seen by all who pass by. Hugs Karla

I love that duck house. Is it just a doghouse you painted and put on a raft? LOL!

I have a pond, and I'd love to do this; it is not visible to anyone but me right now (water level is so low - we need rain here in Texas). I don't have any ducks yet, either - just chickens. LOL!

Everyone is so creative, I love it! I'm a little too new to be that organized yet, but I'm really looking forward to celebrating the day. I'm gonna get all four generations of the family ladies (my mom, my daughter, my granddaughter and me) in our aprons out dancing in the grass, and then planting our second annual cherry tomato plant (I'm a fledgling Farmgirl) with lots singing and snacking and just out and out joy. Hopefully I'll get a photo or two. Oh and of course an apron will be flying off the front porch. It's not fancy, but we'll be celebrating!

Just been reading through the entire thread! What great ideas you all have for celebrating! Really love the duck house. I am a little (lots) behind in preparation, but am hoping to get my family and a few friends together on May 2nd for an ice cream party. We'll be tasting the ice cream featured in the last sister issue! I'm also going to hang aprons along my fence. I've been part of the sisterhood since the beginning and have enjoyed getting back to my roots and being more self-sufficient. Thanks to MaryJane, and all of you for your inspiration.

Next Thursday, I am going to be meeting two farmgirls who live 35 miles away. I am hoping they will join my new Henhouse - Scrappy Crafty Chicks - in the east Texas area. I am making my Jubilee apron and one for each of them as a surprise. It will be a day early, but that will be the start of my Jubilee celebrations. They are coming to my farmhouse and I will have my banner up and will take a picture of the three of us in front of the banner. Then the next day I will take an apron and cookies to my neighbor. This will be a fun celebration.

My plans are to make and wear my jubilee apron with the logo, hang my jubilee banner, do some baking and sharing with a neighbor, tend to my farm duties to start with. I plan to try and do something celebrate each day! Also, will work on completeing some badges!
