Sheila, your animal cookie cutters are just perfect for the Jubilee. It's just my opinion, but embellishing apron to make it your own works for me. Have fun making your garden flag ~ gluing it is a good choice.

MaryJane, so happy it made it there in one piece. Enjoy it ~ I enjoyed making it for you.

Grace (katmom), nice re-purposing! That apron turned out sweet! Sara, lovely banner. What a great idea to place aprons on it. Such wonderful talented farmgals! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks Carole. For me 'Jubilee' = Aprons or is it Aprons = 'Jubilee'.

I need to go through this post for ideas, So far our group is going to host a celebration but we are still ironing out the details. It will probably be at an outdoor public place and some of our sisters will host project stations for people to do. If we do it on a Saturday we will include the husbands and let them BBQ. We are going to make aprons at our April meeting to have ready, we have someone making invitations so we will be inviting all our friends, we will make the bezel charms for those attending (it will be one of our stations) and will probably have some sort of hat making station. I'm not sure what else yet but I'm going to go through the rest of your ideas with a notebook!!

Tons of ideas on here to think on for me. Thanks to everyone of you ladies.

My family and I attend our state's Homeschooling Conference on the first Friday and Saturday of May every year (this is our third year of this.) So, I am trying to think of ways we can celebrate Jubilee while at the conference. Going to talk to my mom about her and I and my daughter wearing aprons during the conference... don't know if she'll want to or not... I will go it alone (or me and the tot) even if she doesn't want to. I also thought maybe supper Friday night at Cracker Barrel, since we won't be at home for most of the weekend.

Also thinking of making some mother and daughters aprons/ cookie mix in a jar care package for church friend who's a single mom with three girls. Probably knock out the aprons badge in the process.

Rebecca, I like the way you think. Aprons at your Home Schooling Conference a great idea; you probably will find many like minded women there. Cookie mix for your friend is also good idea.

I think you should wear your apron at the convention! You will find farmgirls there! :) You could even hand out little encouragement cards to the women there from you or something that puts a smile on people's faces!

Rebecca, I love your ideas for celebrating the Jubilee at your conference! I would bet there are many women there who might like to know about MaryJanesFarm. There is something very inviting about the idea that Farmgirl is just a matter of heart, and wearing a cute apron is sure to attract smiles and questions! Besides, sharing the Jubilee with friends and family is the very essence of all of our plans. And you can sport your new apron badge on your apron in a key spot. Don't you just love sharing what MJF is?? I know I do!

Sabrina, not sure if you'll have access to a sewing machine (if you lived closer I'd lend you my antique hand crank German sewing machine ), but the MJF clothes pin apron looks like a good project. It would also make people conscious of using an old fashion/environment friendly method to dry your clothes. Not sure that's an issue in Germany, but here in the US, not many people hang they clothes out to dry. Great idea to have the DH tend to the BBQ!

I own a quilt shop and host a monthly club whereby we talk about the history of women via the needle and thread. I'm seriously thinking of incorporating the Jubilee event to my May meeting. Will have to do some research to tie it in with our topic. Hum ... I may just talk about the history of aprons!

Cheers!

Here is the banner I made for my local celebration. I printed the logo on super muslin and sewed up the front. The back is a flour sack from our local flour mill sewn onto red gingham.

The April "Sister" Issue that was just sent out today has my article about printing on fabric.

CJ, that is an awesome banner! Love your choice of fabrics! Did you print the Jubilee on fabric? I also like what you did with your flour sack!

Carole,
Yes, I printed the logo on super muslin. If you got the April "SISTER" Issue by email today my little project article is about printing on fabric.

Our flour mill has four different flour sacks and they are all wonderful! I buy the Red Rose version so I generally have that sack!

I've been toying around with the idea of having an outdoor picnic with homemade organic foods and also making a banner for my chicken coop. The girls always want to be in everything! Anyone else have any ideas?

Hey Megan, I love your idea of including "your girls" in on the Jubilee celebrations!! MaryJane has shown in her magazines, little aprons that fit on chickens. Maybe you could make one for one of your chicks to wear? Most likely you can google a pattern to create.

Okay, Gracie, I DID find my fabric of the "cameo" type prints of the different farmgirls, including the one you used for your garden flag.
Had forgotten I had that and it's been a while. There are six different girls there . . . hmmmmm. I need to do something!

I was inspired by Gracie and her Farmgirl Garden Flag, so I went looking for the fabric that I had purchased a long time ago. I found it! It has six different "cameos" of farmgirls on it and I decided to make a flag banner. I backed it with 1/8 inch red gingham check. I know that there is a "gingham shadow" from the front, but I like it that way! I plan to use this in my local Farmgirl Jubilee celebration . . . I'll hang it somewhere!

Thanks to Grace for the reminder and inspiration!
CJ

I'm posting separate pics of the different farmgirls so you can see them better too!
