Hello, I need some suggestions on cleaning the old fashion cast iron heating radiators. When we buildt we restored old radiators with a fresh coat of paint they were so pretty and clean. Now they are covered with construction dust in all the little cracks. They are anywhere from 12 inches long to 54 inches long and have the close fins with about 1/2 in beteewn the fins. There installed over wood floors so powerwashing is out. Any suggestion on how to clean or maybe where to find long thin brushes to dust them with. Baby bottle brush is way to wide. Thanks for any help or suggestion.

I grew up in a house that had those type of radiators and I know my Mom used a flat brush and the vacuum. I remember the Fuller Brush co. had lots of variety but don't know if they are still in business. What about using your hair dryer to blow out the areas you can't reach? Wait for the dust to settle and vacuum? I have baseboard hot water heat now and that is a pain too!You clean the cover, the fins inside and that skinny space underneath it all, arggggh!Good luck!
I have a long brush that tapers so that it will fit in any width radiator. I think I got it at restoration hardware, they probably got it from Fuller. It bends so that you can slide it in the sides and around corners.
