FABULOUS post, Connie!

Today mine are:
1. My relatively good health
2. Similar views on financial decisions with my hubby - this cam be a huge stressor in some marriages.
3. My parents, whom I often thank for what I call my "Ward and June Cleaver Upbringing". I did not know at the time how good I had it, but now I thoroughly appreciate my safe childhood with parents who raised us with a good work ethic and with consequences to our actions. We were told "no" on more than one occasion and lived to tell the tale!

Okay...

Today, I'm grateful for...

1) Knowing the Lord is helping me to be quiet and still, and to trust Him enough to let go and let Him take the wheel.
2) That blessed, amazing peace which surpasses all understanding.
3) Recognizing the changes He has made in me, and the wonderful things that have come as a result.

I was given a great gift today, I am so thankful for and one that will remain forever in my heart.
1. One of my patients with Alzheimer's, whom I've known for 4 years is passing. When kissing him and telling him I love him, he said with a clear voice " I love you Karla". I had never heard him say my name.
2. Breakfast with my daughter.
3. Being home with my fur and feather babies.

Karla - you made me cry, too! What a wonderful blessing and affirmation of life!

Teresa - I hear you, sister! I have a son, though, not a daughter. Those smiling days of kindness and laughter are a real treasure! For a while there, I felt like we'd never see him smile again, but everyone kept telling me it'd get better. It DID! It didn't last forever, but man, it was a loooooong run of days and months, that's for sure. From time to time he still reverts to that mode, but it doesn't last very long. Hang tight and keep praying through it. She needs you more now than she'll ever know, and someday, this will all wash away and be a distant memory!

My three for today are:
1. A much needed long nap.
2. Dinner ready in the freezer (Spanish lamb).
3. The PSAT is over... On to the SAT this spring!

Hugs -

Nini

Karla, what a huge blessing! My honey and I would often visit at the local nursing home. There was a woman there that never spoke. I gave her a hug one day and she said 'thank you". I was in tears. It was and is a huge blessing to just love on these people.

For today:

1) Safe travels from yesterday
2) The Lord healing me of an awful migraine from all day yesterday
3) Watching my pup play with her ball and actually toss it to me :)

Oh Karla, that's beautiful!

I used to keep a gratitude journal...this thread has me thinking, so mind if I join?

1. My sweet Ric's healing. He's had a rough road and still has a way to go, but every day he gets better and stronger.
2. Bird song every morning. My little Kabeer has a lot of friends outside, and they talk to each other all day long!
3. Cool, rainy fall days.

Geez, it's hard to stop at just three! :)

A hook, a book, and a good cup of coffee....

Thank you Nini and Connie for you words of support... I'm told that this does not last forever and seriously look forward to THAT day! :)
Karla & Sharon, what beautiful stories you shared. Both of them were very touching, and I think that its wonderful that you both experienced something truly amazing just by the kindness of your actions.

For today:
1) Finding one of my FAVORITE books on preserving--Hooray!
2) The wonderful friend that never stops caring no matter how much time goes by without contact--Thank you Laurie
3) Oddly enough, I am grateful to amazon.com -- I just ordered an amazing collection of homesteading books that I could NEVER find at my bookstore

Today - as every day - it's our kids -

1) our son
2) our foster daughter
3) our foster son

Without them, life just wouldn't be complete! Thank you, Father!!!

Sharon! That is beautiful! You know, after my grandmother passed away, I was grieving terribly because I had lived so far away from her and our visits were too few. I always hated leaving her, and always prayed that she would be comforted and not be alone and afraid when I couldn't be there. At her funeral, two different people came up to me and shared stories of visiting with her. One would just visit and pray with her whenever possible, the other would go and play the guitar and sing hymns for her. One had been a volunteer; the other had come to know her while his mother was there, and found great comfort in being with my Grandma after she passed away. Still brings me to tears to know the joy and love they brought to her heart, when I could not be there myself. God really is good. He really does answer our prayers. He doesn't forget us, even when the world does. And he sends earth angels, like you, Sharon and Karla, to share His love in even our darkest hours. God bless you both. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your lovingkindness. May He bless you, bless you, bless you.

Hugs -

Nini
