Winnie, So happy you are our Oct FGOTM. Connie good choice.
When I became a FarmGirl I needed a mentor to help me find my way around the Farm and I looked to Winnie. She never changes - always there for an encouraging and understanding word, a yummy recipe, or a fun swap/give-away.

Thanks Debbie ( Blessed in Colorado) for the sweet gift from you today to celebrate my Fgotm! What a way to also celebrate the 1st day of October! Those Fall leaves came tumbling out of my card and just put a smile on my face! You have no idea how much I love that Fan! I am never cool!! LOL! I love the story of your trip and that sweet chubby babies! Oh! how time flies!! My Holly is just 2 years older than your Kent! they are still our babies! for life!! I'm gonna sit in my comfy chair and read the new Better Homes and gardens after supper! Big Hug! sweet farmgirl!!

Winnie...excuse me for nudging in our your Month/but just had to Thank My Sweet Friend Debbie Fischer for the Lovely FGOTM Pkg I got in the mail today!!!
I can't post pictures until I re-sign up Officially but just wanted you to know Deb that it started my Birthday Month Out Perfectly!. I did post pictures on

We went out of town last week so I had my mail held until today. When our USPS lady arrived around 5:00pm, she had an armload of mail and boxes addressed to me!! I excitedly rushed into the Log Cabin to see what was inside. It was like Christmas in October!!
MaryJane sent several of her bread and dessert mixes, both savory and sweet, along with a jar of honey from her Bees!! Plus, I just loved the darling certificate for being FGOTM!! Thank-you MaryJane for so many wonderful breads to try in the coming weeks. It will be fun , and I am sure delicious, to try them all. My cast iron skillet is ready for the task!! I have my grinning stone pumpkin lit up for the festivities too!! LOL!!
The second package came from Connie and it contained the cutest Fall bunting, darling kitchen towels, apple butter(YUM), and a sweet card made by our April Tovar!! Thank-you Connie for these lovely surprises to enjoy!!
My third package came from Sara. It is this very cool book on rustic fruit desserts which looks positively awesome!! Hubby and I love fruit desserts and the recipes in this book look fantastic! This little gem also has great photos of the desserts which is helpful when picturing a new recipe to try out. Thank-you Sara for this sweet book and I am sure we are going to enjoy many a delicious dessert in the future!!

Winnie, so happy you and DH like the cookbook. I had a hard time choosing the right cookbook for you on Amazon. When I saw the Rustic Dessert cookbook I could see you reading it in a comfy chair, in front of the fireplace, in your log cabin office.

OH my Goodness.......Surprise Farmgirl Mail came to my door today!! Thank-you Debbie for so many wonderful goodies!! There was a darling kitchen towel, pretty garden themed napkins, the cutest Halloween color gloves, a crocheted heart, cake in a mug packets that you bake in your microwave, some fun Halloween straws, and a darling Pumpkin card greeting. Debbie, you sure know how to spoil a Farmgirl!! Check out this fun package!
Another cool item was an apple fan from the Mast General Store in Hendersonville, NC. Hendersonville, NC is considered the Apple capital of the state. Each Labor Day weekend, they host a huge apple festival with a parade and a large market of apple growers selling apples from their orchards. I learned about that festival while staying at a B&B in Hendersonville back in the late 1990s. So, in 2004, I had to see this festival for myself and I can tell you it was an Apple lovers perfect weekend!! I was so excited to go there and you can bet a car load of apples filled up my back seat coming home!! LOL!! Debbie, this fun apple fan is the perfect reminder of a fun experience!!

Oh Winnie I am so happy you liked everything and the Apple fan brought back happy memories for you. I spent a very happy 4 days there in September with
my best friend and her new granddaughter. Hendersonville is s lovely little and I know now why my friend moved there.

Thank-you all for so many sweet comments, cards, and surprises!! It has been my honor to enjoy October 2018 as FGOTM!!
Today, I want to pass along the baton to Rebecca White, beccalou, as our FGOTM for November 2018. Rebecca lives in the Gainesville area where I also live, and over the past 2 years, we have enjoyed getting together for lunch about once a month. Many of you know her from the swaps involving anything fabric or paper crafting. Rebecca is a true blue Farmgirl as she and her hubby work the tree farm that was in her family and maintain this wonderful farm where she lived part of her life! WE have had so much fun getting together for lunches and talking about crafting, MJF, fun swaps, and whatever else seems to rise up in conversation. Farmgirl friendships are the most wonderful outcome of this community we belong to. I am so excited to now pass along FGOTM to our Rebecca!!

Connie, I loved that beautiful golden tree you posted a pic of. Brightened my otherwise, chilly, gray, rainy day! I'm sitting here in my kitchen looking at a similar tree at my neighbors. They glow even on gray days!lol
