Thank you, Winnie, for the surprise package I received yesterday in the mail. I love surprises, and that was so sweet of you! I love trying the different teas (some of your favorites - I love Stash brand teas, too), capucino packet, chocolate chicks, home made chocolate covered pretzels (all gone now), Lemon Verbena soap, and especially the crocheted soap scrubbie you made. I love soap scrubbies and have been looking for patterns. I love the yellow and green you made it with. Thanks SO SO much!

You are so welcome, Linda!! I am glad you enjoyed the goodies . The scrubby is simply a crocheted rectangle that is long enough to fold in half and hold a bar of soap. Then I sew up the sides and crochet a scalloped top and add a crocheted tie. I like to use #3 cotton thread so that the scrubby will be strong enough to take the use but light enough to dry well when you hang it up in the shower between uses. My scrubby has replaced using a washcloth as I like it's size and practical usability. Plus you just toss it in the washing machine and dryer as needed. When I was growing up, my Mom crocheted me a turtle scrubby to use and she also used it to put little scraps of soap inside. It was both a useful wash item for me as well as a way to not waste soap bars as they got to the very end.

I love the soap-keeper/scrubby. Thanks, again. They are great in the shower, and they do help save small soap pieces. I also like using cotton crocheted "washcloths". They are so soft!

Thank you, Sara, for the lace pieces and the great flag for Jubilee. I love how you embellished the store-bought flag with the chicken and apron. I will use the lace on some future mini aprons.

My month has come to a close, and I have a very special farmgirl friend to nominate for FGOTM for May 2017. She always has great stories of her childhood growing up on a farm, has great recipes, and is knowledgeable in many aspects of farming whether it is regarding animals or growing vegetables and other plants. She often steps in to help out a farmgirl who, for one reason or another, is unable to complete a swap obligation. She has also taken over as hostess for a swap when one was needed. She always has uplifting messages for those in need of support during times of need. And she has taken part in many of my MJF swaps, including the current mini apron swaps. She exemplifies a farmgirl in all aspects.
Let me be the first to congratulate Marilyn Godfrey as FGOTM for May 2017.
