This has been a fantastic month as FGOTM. I appreciate all the packages and good wishes from all my fellow Farmgirls. C.S. Lewis said, "You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me." I would also add, you cannot have enough friends.
I pondered about who I should name as the April FGOTM, to pass on the happiness and camaraderie. (Drum roll) It is Tara Wilson, lovecatsandsunshine. She has not been on site lately because she's settling down in her new home, planting her garden and contending with wildlife. But is a faithful correspondent in the penpal list.
Let's give her as lovely a month as y'all have given me.

Hello Farmgirls!!!
I am honored(blushing) to be FGOTM for April.
I'm recovering from a tumble. Just bruised hip and right knee. Life moves a bit slow, but I am healing.
I'm still trying to keep bunnies away. I know I have moved into their home and will learn to accept their presence about my property.
I heard I should plant onions and chives near my raised beds to help repel them. I look forward to having a big kitchen garden, and growing a TON of flowers. I live in the Upstate in SC I welcome any advice on my garden adventure. I love hummingbirds, dragonflies and frogs. I welcome these creatures to my property. Getting the tiny pond in is still a work in progress. I'll keep everyone posted
I havent planted a big garden in 6 years.

Btw: and you probably already know this… do not plant onions near strawberry plants…

I use to have a “companion plant” guide… listing plants that are compatible to plant next to each other… I will try to find it to post…
