Oh my word . . . . I am speechless. Thank you sew much Tina for this honor. Being a Farmgirl of the Month is such a special privilege. And, I thought I was being somewhat quiet (for me) these days as I have been doing some online classes and concentrating on learning some new techniques. I guess I'll just have to share more of them here as I learn them and hope to inspire some of you to get better acquainted with your sewing machines. Many moons ago I used to be a hard core business woman trying to make it in the "Good Old Boys" world. These days due mainly to some "physical inconveniences" I have become a sewing slut and am carrying on a hot and heavy love affair with a handsome Viking . . . . NO! Not that kind . . . whatever ARE you thinking? I'm talking about my wonderful Viking embroidery/sewing machine. LOL. . . . Gotcha! Yes, please forgive me, I love to tease.

I wake up slowly these days . . . just laying there thinking about things that happened yesterday and what I'm going to do today. Then my caffeine addiction sets in and I'm up and at 'em . . . . relatively speaking. This morning I couldn't help but think about Tina nominating me as June FGOTM and wondering: Whatever did I say or do to make her think of me? I just sit on my little mountain in the middle of nowhere Idaho. I can no longer drive so seldom go anywhere or do anything exciting. Tina is a sweet Newbie to this chatroom and we have never corresponded personally. My bad - I should have been better at corresponding a welcome to our new member. So I was left with this thought to ponder for today. You never know who you are going to "touch" or exactly how. Maybe something you write or say will touch another deeply and you'll never know that you reached out to their need at just the right time. . . . Thanks again Tina.

WooHoo Jean!! A big congratulations as our June FGOTM!! I had to laugh at your Viking reference, because I am actually married to a Viking purebred!! LOL!!! I call him my Resident Norwegian or Resident Viking as all his family on both sides going way back came from Norway. I love that you are having such fun with your machine because I have already seen a glimpse of your handiwork on it. Jean, you are a wonderful Farmgirl and contribute much to our community. Congratulations Jean! Tina made a wonderful choice! You are to funny. I loved hearing about your current love affair! But it is also something to really interesting to think about. I guess you never really know when you have touched someones life. I know many Farmgirls here have touched me in some way and even shaped my opinions. It’s amazing to have such a wonderful group of women to look up to! Have an amazing month Jean!

Today was a very good day. DH took the doggies to the beauty parlor for their spa day. I opted to stay home and enjoy the beautiful sunshine. Well I justified my laziness by doing some laundry. I had a batch of lemon rinds which have been marinating in EverClear for about a month now, so I made up some simple syrup and voila', I now have a gallon of homemade Limoncello. While I was in a lemony kind of mood I decided to make a good old fashioned lemon Jello cake . . . remember those? Good ole' '50's fare.
Spent some time sitting in the sunshine in my favorite rocking chair on the front porch and reading. And, then, I got a wonderful surprise delivery -- a set of magnificent, and I'm talking REALLY magnificent dishtowels. Found a note from Amazon inside the envelope telling me they were from Sara (Yellow Rose) Thank you so much dear lady, they are incredibly beautiful.
