Well spring seems to have skipped out on us here in NE PA! I suppose it will come back next week but at the moment it is hotter 'n summer around here :0). I have been using our outdoor grill EVERY day but seriously, I am tired of grilling---or maybe just not creative enough! Burgers, dogs, chicken, pork...what ELSE can I grill so as to avoid putting on the stove top---even boiling water just heats the whole house! One HUGE draw back---the hubby and other 6 people that live here and rely on my for food...well, they don't like cold meat!!!![](icons/icon_smile_shock.gif) ![](icons/icon_smile_shock.gif) EEPS! Any ideas or web site you can refer me to for some new ideas on grilling??? The 2 grill cookbooks we have have weird recipes with a LOT of little ingredients...not for me thanks!
Hope everyone is enjoying some nice weather!

First off you can boil water on the grill, (just think camping), I make a pasta dish that can be easily made on the grill: 2 boxes tri-colored rotoni pasta Grilled chicken, boned and cut to bite size sliced mushrooms pepperchinis(sp?) to taste, cut up feta cheese to taste zesty Italion dressing chopped tomatos or whole grape tomatos
cook pasta according to directions, rinse and cool, grill chicken till cooked thru and cool, add all the ingrediants and mix well, let sit in frig a couple of hours and dive in, a cool meal without a hot house...

We like to grill vegies. Carrots are so sweet when grilled. Squash, tomato, onion and don't forget the green beans. Any thing can be grilled, even fruits. |

Hi Donna, I would say it's time to pull out your crock pot or buy one. There are soups, roast, swiss steaks, etc. Or give yourself a break and make subs or have a chef salad night. I would use your stove very early in the morning or really late at night. Have a great day.

Thanks for these ideas...I need to think more like camping! Good idea! Doglady...I have a crock, but I guess soups and roasts seem so heavy in the heat. I was thinking of getting one of those roasters...somehow a roasted chicken would work??? I am weird, yes it is true! We also have this rotisserie thingy for the grill...I guess I will pull out the instructions! Oldbittyhen---THAT sounds very yummy!!!

It was so hot today, the rattlesnakes were stretched long with their tongues hangin' out! So I posted at the blog what I made for dinner tonight so I wouldn't heat up the kitchen. It was one of those, "Throw it together and hope it works" kinda things and it was awesome! :-)
