Wanted to share this fabulous non-toxic all-purpose cleaner.

Orange Vinegar:
Fresh orange peels placed in a clear glass jar

Pour white distilled vinegar(5% acidity) in jar to cover orange peel and place in a sunny window for 24 to 48 hrs.

Strain into a spray bottle and use any where you want a streak free fresh citrus clean.

Enjoy!

This is a great idea! As I use the last of a commercial cleaner I am not buying any but instead I wash the container well and recycle filling it with a less toxic version. Vinegar is great but the orange scent will take away a lot of the pickle scent. Thanks for sharing

Great Idea, we have been talking about going all natural with cleaners. Especially when we had a scare with the swifter spary floor cleaner and our dogs.

WoooHooo! Bought my oranges today :) Will have a nice batch just in time for weekend cleaning. Can't wait to smell the orange-y goodness as I clean!

Deborah, let us know if you make a lavender version.....curious myself :)

OH, I have a question....should I use a lid on the bottle as it sits or just cover it like in the pic?

Awesome! You know, I bought some EO's to put in my cleaner, but the vinegar smell is still REALLY strong. I'll have to try this! I've got a whole crock full of tangelos, I'll have to start saving the peels!

I made mine :) But it isn't anywhere near as clear as Kathy's pic! Still smells mainly like vinegar, using it anyway ;)

Beverly, did you remember to strain it before putting it in the spray bottle? That may be why it isn't clear. Maybe you didn't use enough orange peels to mask the vinegar smell. Just a thought.

Yep, drained w/ cheese cloth, didn't cram jar w/ peels but thought was enough....One thing I did do different was to cut the peels into strips, thinking more of the orange would get into the vinegar? Will try again when this is gone...will use more peels & not cut into strips :) We'll see ?.?.?

I think I've found ideas for christmas gifts this year!

Some homemade gardeners soap, my violet & dandelion jellies, this awesome cleaner and my homemade vanilla extract would be awesome as little gifts for others! I'm going to start saving my spray bottles or just go to the dollar store and pick up a few!

What a great idea. I'm going to try this one. Have lots of white vinegar on hand but need to find a bottle and buy some oranges. Thanks for sharing.
