Good News! After 4 straight days…I finally got some sleep last night. I can't say it was uninterrupted sleep, and I woke up at 4 am, but Baby, I'll take whatever I can get.
Thelma, I too have fibro on top of my other things. My Doc is about 95% sure that most of my issues are due to my thyroid not functioning properly (hypo-thyroid). He has put me on some thyroidian and there has been some small, but definite improvements. He can't get any labs on me to confirm (I can't pay for them and no insurance, but he says I'm a classic case. The one thing that could make a marked improvement is a prescription medication called Armor; it's made from real desiccated thyroid (from a pig) as apposed to the chemical based synthroid that can cause congestive heart failure with extended use. He is not allowed to write for prescriptions and so we're looking for an M.D. that will work with us as we have many patients like me. I never realized just how much the thyroid handles and how much that can go wrong when it's unhappy.

Marianne, I don't sleep for many reasons, but pain is definitely the biggie. Benedyl actually helps, but only occasionally. My body adapts very quickly to medications and so I have to either keep increasing the amounts or stop for a while and go without. That is where I am right now; going without. *shrugs*

Penny, isn't nice to be wanted…lol I hope you get exactly what you need. One or both, whichever.

Darlys, have you spoken to Glenda, lately? How is she doing?

VIRTUAL TOUR

Well, we rescued Kathy from the street performers just in the nick of time. She was so good on the trash cans that they wanted to advance her to the street light covers. She would, however, have to climb up to get one down. I have no doubt whatsoever that she could have done it, but the DC police take a very dim view of that sort of thing, you know.

We all looked so awesome with our feather boas and sitting in Ol' Abe's lap. That officer was very nice when he shooed us away and I swear I saw Abe grinning like a Cheshire cat.

It's way too cold for me to take a dip in the water at the Monument, but that didn't stop Darlys, Penny, and Janet from taking the plunge. It took everything we had in our arsenal to warm them up afterward, though.

The cherry trees were so beautiful, even when Penny, Marianne, and Thelma were bouncing on the braches enveloping us in showers of pink blossoms.
I do believe that the female birds have mistaken some of us for their "gentlemen." There was one that got a hold of Holly and was giving her "what for" for coming home late and spending all night out with "the boys" while she was sitting on those eggs all night long; with no rest and no reprieve, just slaving away to bring His children into a nice home… I think, when she flew away, she was muttering something to the effect of "MEN! Can't live with them…Can't kill them…!" I could be wrong, though. There was too much teeth-chattering going on behind me.

Holly, I only moved an hour and a half yesterday.

Squashes and Hugs!

Kathryn

Good evening everyone,

I sometimes have problems sleeping. What is it about 2:30 AM that I wake up and can not get back to sleep? I have taken to reading. I have a kindle now and I read sometimes too long but it does help go back to sleep. I too do not like lights in my room. Indicator lights make me crazy.

Years ago when we moved to the house there was a security light on the telephone pole outside across the driveway. One spring the lightning took out the light. I waited until fall to call to have it fixed. the stars were magnificent without the light blocking their brilliance. I called in the fall when the days were shorter to have it fixed. I asked if I could have it turned on for the winter and turned off for the summer. They told me it would cost me some amount of money for them to take it down for the summer and put it back up in the winter. It told them no thankyou. The darkness is wonderful. We do have two night lights so we can find the toilet at night. lol

My doctor told me that a 100 mg of B6 helps with sleeping. It helps in not running old movies when I wake up. Sometimes I am not very consistent in taking it.

Penny, I have read your request for a list of the children and have been ruminating on how best to present the information. I trust all of you to not take advantage of the information but some of these posts are available on the general web and I am not sure that a concise listing of all the children should be. Although if anyone googled our name there are pictures out there of What do you think? Am I being too paranoid?

I think Janet's weather is a bit colder than ours is here. We have been having steady low forties during the day and twenties at night. The skies have been overcast for the last four days or so. Today we had spots of sunshine. I am in a holding pattern with the garden. It is so much easier not to be yearning to plant when the ground is covered with snow than when it is sitting there naked calling my name.

Kathryn, I would appreciate it if you could tell me a little about your mother. What she has done and what her cognitive functions are. I am not sure if I should be sending her informative letters or bright and cheery pictures with a few words.

Virtual Tour

It sure was a looonnnnngggg walk along the mall in DC. I did not know it could take so long to walk the whole thing. We were so lucky to arrive just in time to see the show Shear Madness at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. We were so good at helping solve the crime. I think the director wants us to come back for the evening performance as well.

I do love a good show.

Sweet dreams.

Virtual Tour

Once we got Holly cleaned up from the bird and the Penny, Thelma & Marianne out of the Cherry Blossom trees we made a quick trip into the National Museum of Art to see Leonardo Da Vinci's painting "Ginevia de Renci". It is the only Da Vinci in America. But you girls just couldn't keep it down and Kathryn and Nancy decided to dance through the rooms of art as though it was the 9:30 Club. Dianne and Patty wanted to have their picture painted by one of the artists copying a painting that he soon packed up his paints and easel and left mubling to himself about how could they let just anyone in there. When we reached the Monet's, the guards had had enough and as they escorted us out, we managed to see Salvador Dali's The Last Supper (remind me to tell you a real story about this painting).

I hailed a cab to Georgetown and to Dixie Liquors. It was certainly crowded but Glenda and Darlys thought it would be fun to ride in the trunk and at stop lights, open it up and scare people who were behind us. The poor cab driver didn't want any money by the time we got out, only his sanity back. Debra, Marylyn, Linda, Karen, and Janet kept going in there asking why they weren't selling Darlys's lemonade. While that place is a historical site in and of itself I brought you here to get rid of some energy. I had you all run up and down the steps next to the back that were used for the movie The Exorcist. It tired Katheryn, Thelma, Glenda, and Marianne out but not the rest of you! Here's a pic for your photo album.

After that we walked down to Clyde's for dinner and a few drinks. Boy was Dianne, Penny, Kathy, and Darlys giddy! They made sure everyone in Clyde's knew we were "farmgirls" and not stuffed shirts from Capitol Hill! I don't think they we forget us anytime soon. I over heard a few people remark that they were pretty sure there was a convention of Red Hatter's in town. I played the Pied Piper and got us moving through "GW" to the nearest subway station. But we did manage to lose Holly, Bunny, & Patsy. I think it was to a bunch of Doctors we passed but I can't be sure. The lights of GW Hospital must have been a real draw for them.

When we finally made it to the subway I noticed Nancy, Linda, and Kathy jumped over the turnstile just to see if they could do it, and guess what, they did! Once in the subway I herded us up to Wheaton, MD exit just so you could all see the 230 foot escalator that takes you back up to the street! Probably one of the largest in the world.

On the way back we stopped to see Dumbarton Oaks which is where the UN was drawn up in 1944. then we went over to the Naval Observatory to visit Joe Biden, but since he wasn't home, they let us look through the telescopes into the crystal clear night sky. After that I was determined to call it a night so we took the subway to the Pentagon to catch a bus back to Kathy's. I'm pretty sure I lost more of you there as you approached some good looking servicemen to get a first hand tour of the place. While you were there you learned that it is the largest office building in the world and there is 68,000 miles of telephone line in that building. On the outside is a beautiful, serene, memorial to those who died 9/11. Here is a picture.

Tomorrow I suggest we pick some of these places to go. The Textile Museum; Cedar Hill which is Frederick Douglas's home; The National Geographic Museum; the Hillwood Estate (the Post cereal family home); George Washington Masonic Memorial; National Cathedral; National Zoo; National Arboretum; Newseum; Madame Tussauds Wax Museum; Union Station; Corcoran Gallery of Art; Old Stone House the oldest building in DC 1765; Oak Hill Cemetary which is also a Botanical Garden; and a must stop is the Eastern Market which is the Farmer's Market on Capitol Hill.

Fun fact: Did you know if you are over 18 you can get a Library card at the Library of Congress and that it is now two buildings?

Also, if you want to see Mount Vernon I highly recommend it but it will take a full day all by itself now. It has a new museum along with being able to go through the house, buildings, and grounds.

Fun Fact: Did you know I395/Shirley Highway was the first HOV lane in the U.S.?

I hope I've given you a good tour and a good idea of other things to see in and around DC besides the mall area. If you have a car another great place to visit is Thomas Jefferson's home and James Madison's home, both near each other but out in the Country side of VA.

When we get to my house we will have lots of lobster, local shrimp, scallops, mussels, haddock, and whatever other sea food you want. I'm sure David will be happy to prepare a typical Downeast Lobster Feast. I'll ask some of my fishermen friends if they would like to take a bunch of crazy ladies out or we may go up to Eastport or down to Bar Harbor for a real whale watch. Trust me, I'll find something to entertain us all!

Have a great night!

Well, welcome to the farm, Sondra. Nice to meet you. Tell us about yourself. We only know that you'll be 77 in May. More please?????

Come join us in our virtual tour as we walk up the East Coast.

Read back a few pages to get caught up on what we're doing and where we're going.

Back to the Virtual Tour - I've been having a blast these past few days having you all here, but I'll be happy to be moving on. Some of my neighbors have been giving us the 'stink eye', and after all, I do have to live here later. So, sisters, let's get moving north, up the Eastern Coast. Personally, I can't wait for the lobster fest. Love me some sea food!!

Hugs and Squishies!!

Glad to hear everyone is doing well. Good luck with getting one of those jobs Penny. Hearing now that I could soon be unemployed too. My state is trying to change who delivers nursing service in schools. ...Always something. Kathy I would like to get in on the fabric swap. Have never done anything like that before. Could someone let me know how to email sisters again. I know I saw it on one of these 243 pages but don't really feel like reading every post again! It is bedtime and I just got home.

Last time I was in DC it was 1984..think things have changed much...I need a tour guide!

Welcome, Sondra,,,,it's a lot of fun here!!!! I am new as well, but feel as though I have always been here. They will answer questions, share their pain and woes, encourage you, and exchange gifts....all while making up the most wonderful journey across country.

Good evening, Sistas!!! My day started early. It was a beautiful day here. High 60's today with the promise of frost in the morning...so once again, we covered the garden this evening and I'll keep my finger crossed until morning.

My mail lady brought me my last Mary Jane book today!!! Outpost!!! I have subscribed to Mary Janes magazine for about 4 years and I remember reading about glamping!!! So I started shopping for a camper. We had sold our large travel trailer and truck several years before. I found and bought the smallest pop up camper I could find!!!! And I have been glamping ever since!!!! I even took my daughter one week end...we had a blast!!!!! Believe it or not, I had forgot what had inspired my little camper until I opened that book today.

Oh, Ginny, what a trip!!!! I am absolutely dizzy from all the excitement!!! WooooWhoooo!!!! Now are we going to Maine tomorrow? I do need to do laundry and fluff up my boa and straighten up my hat!!!

Love and giggles,

Auntie M

Wow!!! With all that site seeing and such, I am running around in circles. Either too much lemonade, or some other beverage, not sure. I have to say, I had fun swimming in the pool, even if it was cold. The water temp. here in Lake Michigan only gets to around 58 degrees in the summer. I lost my hat somewhere, probably at the pond, or on all those stairs we had to climb up and down, so we need to do some shopping. My boa also needs to dry out.
Put me down for 2 hours of housework today.
I am also one that does not get much sleep. I am lucky if I get 5 hours.

Wow what a tour! Ginny sure knows her stuff. And she has eyes in the back of her head to keep track of us all. The stairs were too much... seriously! But, everywhere else was wonderful!

I would love to see the Post Cereal Family Mansion!!

Holly is just going to have to let the theater know we can only do one show a night. Especially if we are going to close down a different museum everyday!

Welcome Sondra, you will love it here, and I hope we don't scare you off...just jump right in and you will see how fun we can be and I promise you won't find another group of ladies that are more caring than this group is...It might be hard to keep our virtual trip straight...lol...but we do have fun on it...so come on and share with us...we would love to know more..

Thanks everyone on the prayers and good wishes on the jobs...I will let all of you know when I know...rofl....

Virtual trip...I'M TIRED AND COLD!!!...I knew I should have stayed out of that pool, but Holly double dogged dared me...so just had to do it...now those STAIRS...I don't want to see anymore on this trip please...I am also ready for some seafood...love it...well everything but oysters and scallops that is...I really need to try scallops again I guess....been 10 years or more since I have had them and my Momma use to tell me that your taste buds change every 7 years...so I'm game...I like trying new things too...so not sure what a Downeast Lobster Fest consists of but bring it on...

I hope to check back in soon.

Holly put me down for 2 hours of moving...I walked the grocery store at least 3 times up and down every aisle...cause kept thinking of things that I didn't have on my list that I wanted...then as I was getting cream cheese so I could make a cheese cake tomorrow...I remember I wanted some carrots for the horses so had to go back to the produce which was on the other side of the store...I swear I was all over that store.

Welcome Sondra, I know you will love it here. Tell us about yourself. You can get in on the birthday card fun if you send Penny your address and birthdate. Then when your birthday comes around you will have a really specially day.

Holly put me down for 6 hours yesterday. I was one busy bee. I think I was moving some way or another almost all day.

My kitty out did himself yesterday by catching 3 lizards in one day. What a hunter he is. My DH was gone to a meeting so I was able to really get some things done in my sewing room. It is starting to look like I can find things if I can remember where I put them the next time I need them. giggle.

Hugs,

Nancy

my goodness i have missed being on the tour! you girls are having so much fun that i am going to have to pop in for a visit. I have always wanted to go to Maine so I will see you all there! and the seafood, love the seafood. I mowed the back yard yesterday and did laundry so you could put me down for 2 hours of movement.
had to do something. my little dog, sally is not doing too good. I noticed Sunday that she seemed to be sleeping a lot but Monday she wasn't moving like she had been so Tuesday I took her to the vet who 'expressed" (?) her adrenal glands (which were "extremely" ful) and i thought when i got her home that she was beter. she woke up tuesday nite yelping from pain so i gave her part of a baby aspirin (as per the doctors orders) but then she threw up (which was not pretty by any means) so i let her rest. Last night while i was mowing, she went into the back yard with me (like she normally does) and that made my heart glad but when she came back into the house, she was yelping with pain on every step. she laid down beside my chair until i was ready to go to bed and then she went to the back bedroom but yelped the whole way (poor baby, breaks my heart to see her in pain) and she slept sort of most of the night. so i dropped her off at the vet's this morning noting that she didn't eat anything yesterday and barely drank water and cried for awhile before making it to work. i am so bad about thinking the worse case scenario and i just couldn't endure another death this month. my beloved nephew/son was killed in a car accident on the 19th and my dh died of a heart attack on the 28th ( i found him and it was not expected) so any and all prayers would be greatly appreciated.
i have been trying to get my "sewing room" organized via directions from "the fabric therapy" website but i am not going to rush into it. i am so tired of trying to find stuff in there and i am determined to make it functional and then pretty. anyway, my boss just mentioned work to me so i had better get back to it!
love and hugs to all of you! you are so special to me..

Put me down for 4 hours yesterday and I'll let you know later how much for today. Got a lot to do. We'll be leaving for our 'retirement' home tomorrow for the weekend. It's a very small house on 2 acres where we'll retire to once we get it all livable. We've added on a master suit - huge bedroom and bathroom with a jacuzzi tub (mmmmm can't wait to get there and use it)!!!

Virtual tour: Once everybody got packed and left for the train, husband said he found a bunch of stuff laying around......unmentionables - with ribbons and lace?

Who does the black lace parasol belong to?
Who forgot their bright orange boa - found it hanging from the dinning room chandelier.
Found one long green & yellow striped stocking, and one long white stocking with black lace on the top.
Half a candy bar under the sofa bed, a 6 pack of Mike's Lemonade behind the Lazy Boy?

I'm sure glad you ladies didn't mind my two over active Jack Russel Terriers...they are so much gonna' miss you all. All that lovin' and back scratching.....I think I even saw some doggie tears when we all left!!!

Penny - really praying hard for you and the jobs. I just know something's going to happen for the good!!

Karen - just email me you favorite colors at beachy1mom@yahoo.com and I'll put you down for the fabric swap.

Ginny - I sure hope your little pop up camper will hold all of us when we get there. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun Glamping with you!

Kathryn - I was so glad to hear you got a good nights sleep. I hope it is the beginning of many nights of great zzzzzzzs! Whatever you did, do it again.

Prayers and good thought to you all!!

Hugs and Squishies!!

Good morning, all! It's a beautiful…cloudy day here in OK with 30-40% chance of rain and a possibility of some really serious weather, if you get my drift. (thunderstorms, hail, tornadic activity, if you didn't get it).

SSDI has "requested" that I have a series of x-rays today, so I have to travel an hour and a half to get x-rays done. There are places closer to me that can do it, I don't live in that small of a town…, It's just that SS looks for someone that will take their "reduced" rates and will wait, God only knows how long, for their money; it's the government, don't you know.
Holly, Indicator lights…why? Why does everything have to have a light on it? When it's off why does have to have a light to tell it's off? I can't even use a dumb humidifier without have to pin it up in an old towel, because it glows…brightly! ARRRgh! *chuckle* I can laugh about it now, but I don't think it's so funny at 3 am.
Mother is quite cognitive; she reads books all the time, so she could read and comprehend some informative letters. She would love it too; she is soooo bored sitting there with very little to exercise her brain.

Put me down for 2 hours for yesterday; Cleaning up and trying to sew patches on a leather motorcycle vest for the doc; what a struggle. Kept breaking sewing machine needles and having to get up to get new ones. I tried it by hand, but I couldn't see and was sewing it on crooked. Urgh!

Welcome, Sondra. Just jump right in where ever…and yes, please, more info.

Nancy, that's my problem. When I moved into my itty bitty house I managed to find a home for everything…except now I have to dig through everything to find just one little thing; I need a label maker, so I can label what's in each door, drawer, and shelf. Hahaha

Janie, I'm so sorry for all your troubles, of, course I will shoot up a little prayer for your sweet doggie. Drop in on the "tour" whenever you can; it'll give you a bit of a boost. Here are some extra hugs, just for you… (((((((Janie)))))))

VIRTUAL TOUR

No more stairs! Please, no more stairs! I promise Ginny, I’ll be good…
Wait, did some one say fish? Yummmmmmy! Are we going to dig pits on the beach and cook everything under the sand? That's how we did it in MA when I was a kid. Corn, potatoes, and every imaginable kind of seafood…salads, bread… Hurry, girls, Hurry! We have pits to dig! Ooooo, pits, hmmmm...

Ginny, It's the first time I've been "home" (New England) since I left a very long time ago. In fact, I used to have relatives in main; I wonder if they're still there…huh…might just have to look them up while we're there…uh-huh.

Squashes and Hug!

Kathryn

Good morning friends, I went to the post office yesterday and got a funny easter card from Darlys that I wanted to share but can not get it to load, also Kathryn, thank you so much for the little pkg of goodies. I wish you would not do that because I know your money is limited right now and you need to conserve what you have. Even postage is expensive now

I am tired of being tired and tired of being mentally down from being tired....there, that's my gripe for the day. I try to remember it has not been even 4 weeks yet.

The virtual walk is great because I can have all this fun and never leave my sofa. You girls are doing such a fine job of cooking up my antics for me while I lay around like a lazy bum.

I will join the fabric swap if we only have to send one. Otherwise it is another obligation that I am afraid I might not be able to keep up with. Remember I am "Post Office" challenged. I like most colors except burgandy or maroon or orange. I think I prefer cool colors over warm. So if you don't like pink and want to get rid of it, I'm your gal.

On saturday I am supposed to go to a get-together with my doll sculpting group and we are going to dye fabrics. Last year we dyed lace and that was so much fun and the lace all turned out so pretty. We will do 2 color wheels, one cool and one warm, so that will be fun. We will dye fat quarters. I will try to use my smart phone to get some pics and maybe try to post on the blog, I am behind on that as well. For some reason my phone is sending the pics to my computer upside down but I am holding the camera right, but I must be doing something wrong.

Pennny I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that you will get both jobs and get to pick and choose your hours. I know your hubby is trying to do his part, too. Hang in there, girlfriend, it's just another little bump in the road. I sure admire your "get'er done" attitude. That was really smart of you not to turn down anything until you had all your options secured. Also, good job trusting your own voice, not someone else's. I wish I had always done that.

Holly you are wise in your thinking about this being a public site and any personal info should be sent via private email if at all.

Ginny you are making Maine sound so good you better be careful or we will all show up at your door for real.

Welcome new ladies, and sorrowful goodbye to the ones who have decided to leave us. One of the things I like most about this particular thread is even though we do share our problems with each other--- We voice our bad days and bad times, knowing our sisters will lift us up in their prayers and give us the moral support we need, but we then move on to something funny or interesting and positive. It's the only way to go. I just watched "The Secret" and also have the book and I have been trying to remember about the Laws of Attraction and get my thinking re-aligned in that way. It has been a pretty crappy year for me but when my goofy sense of humor takes a leave of absence, I know it is time to step back and stop taking myself so seriously.
I am going to try to give Darlys a call later today and make sure she is up to no good. Nancy, too---gotta watch those two!! I'm thinking they are off under a tree somewhere with a gallon or two of that lemonade. Not sharing. I think Thelma might be with them.

I had 2 hours of house work yesterday & 2 hours of garden work. It's a balanced workout!!

Leaving soon - heading to our 'fixer-upper retirement house' to complete some more upkeeping.

Virtual tour: I didn't think we'd all get on the train in time. Holly and Nancy kept dancing with the conductor and twirling him around so much he was a dizzy mess. Finally Glenda, Janet & Dianne looped elbows with the girls & danced them into our car on the train just as the last whistle blew. Whew!!

Darlys, Kathryn, Ginny, Janie and I got all our bags stuffed into those over head baggage hold spaces. It's a wonder they all fit.

Karen & Penny, still dancing in the isles with Holly & Nancy and a couple of rather good looking guys with PONYTAILS?!? Where did those boys come from? We always seem to pick up a few of them now and then don't we?

Marianne and Thelma tried to engage Sondra in a sing along, but I think they got the words wrong....sounded a little like......

"The train, in rain, is rushing on to Maine"? or something like that.

Did anybody remember to pack the lemonaid? And just where did I put my hat? You know, the one I picked up in DC that had the Washington Monument on top?

Next...

Oh, gotta' run.

Later sisters.

Hugs and Squishies!!

Kathy

I wanted to post last night, but the battery on my laptop went too low. I had a great birthday yesterday and did not have to make dinner, went out. I had chicken and broccoli fettuchini alfredo. It was good, but a bit too much garlic in it. I also got my whole house cleaned, finally, vacuumed, swept, scrubbed floors, washed the trow rugs and hung them outside, did the dishes, whew, 6 hours total. Even though I was told to just have a lazy day, I feel better moving around more and now my house is clean and I can go to work and come home to a clean house, now, that feels good.
Now we are on a train? First time on a train for me.What a fun ride so far. More later, I have to get ready for work.

good morning gals! what fun we had on the train and Kathy, did you forget that I borrowed your hat? since I am a little "short" I thought it would add interest to my outfit! And of course, it helped taking all of those pictures of it!

I had to leave my sweet doggie at the vet hospital overnight. they wanted to observe her. i sure did miss her too, she is the life of the party at my little house..will know something this afternoon and i hope it is not major.
oh am at work, my supervisor took a vacation day, the foreman just had to leave to get his daughter to school and the next one "in line" had to go get his boy from his ex wife who is trying to avoid an arrest for a warrent for a traffic violation.....friday 13th is alive in Waco!
it is raining here (more like misting) and i am hoping to start a log cabin quilt this weekend i just haven't decided on the dark contrast color yet.
oh I walked for 1 1/2 hours yesterday..

hugs

Good Morning everyone.

I overslept for a change today. Snuggles finally decided to start barking so I finally had to get up. Got my coffee and decided I might get over to Pinterest today. I haven't been there for ages it seems.

I have my fabric all picked out for the fabric exchange and I hope whoever or is it whomever? gets it will like it. I haven't decided what I am going to make with my 1 yard yet. I have some things in mind though. I still have a sock monkey without clothes, I could make a apron but maybe not, or I could cover a journal. Hmmmm! It will be a surprise.

Thelma if you get a chance maybe you can post a picture of your basement when it is finished. I would like to see how it turned out.

Patty how are you doing? I am keeping you in my prayers, girlfriend. You are so talented and
I just love the way you can reuse and recycle in the most creative way.

Holly, put me down for 3 hours movement yesterday. I agree with you about posting information about your children. I am always so surprised to see on Facebook the ease at which people are willing to give out so much private information, even the adults. I think many do not realize how open a forum that place is. My son refuses to be on there because he wants privacy but his daughter and wife are on.

Dianne, I am going to see if I can get to Tybee Island when I am up in Savannah to get some sea glass. I wonder what colors there will be there. I know the blue and red are hard to get in CA and MA. I did manage to get quite a bit of blue in CA and some red in MA. My DH's folks live in MA near Cape Cod so we got the red there.

My SIL will be here about 3 and then the fun begins between my DH and her. They are the closest of the sisters and brothers in the family. Yada, yada, yada. I can't get a word in. Lots of chatter and lots of laughter. Snuggles and Mr. Kitty will be happy to see her, too.

Hugs and squeezies to you all. Have a lovely weekend.

Nancy xoxo

Good morning, Sisters!!! Very cloudy today and the temps are rising...so I would imagine when Kathryn gets through with her 'really serious weather' she will pass it on to me!! Hehehe...( I am her neighbor to the East ). Oh well, weather is weather and it is going to do what weather does....change!!!!!

Work is quiet right now...and I like it quiet, quiet and boring. I work at a home for the mentally disabled (severely).

I am so excited...I am planning a 'ladies evening out' in May. About ten of my dearest friends are coming to my house for a picnic!!! There will be lots of laughter and lots of talking, and maybe we can squeeze in a few games of croquet!!!! Table clothes, china, silverware, glass glasses, clothe napkins, and an old fashioned outhouse (gussied up, of course). I certainly wish that y'all could come, of course, but I think we're on our way to Maine! Hehehe...

My daughter and 3 children rode the 'Silver Eagle' to San Antonio a couple of years ago. She said they rode first class, had their own bedroom and all of their meals were included. She also said that with kids that is the only way to travel!!! So we're on the train to Maine, wonderful!!! Of course, I had to purchase an extra ticket so I could bring my '64!!!! Hold on, Sisters.....here we go!!!!! woooowooooo! (that's a train whistle!).

I am sooo sorry about everyone's trials in life....life is so short. I will remember everyone in my prayers!

Love and Wishes,

Auntie M
