You're welcome. My points have already went down from 27 to 24 after losing 6 lbs. I could never keep up without the tools they provide.

Well gals as I have told Sharon, I have been going to WW and this week I made my goal weight. I think it is worth all learning about the healthier ways to eat. I am sticking with the program as I want to continue learning how to maintain and keep making healthy choices. You definitely do not eat celery sticks and water, Diana. You have to eat to lose weight but you have to eat the things with the nutrients your body craves and needs. Not the junk food cravings. I do not have a hankering for sweets all the time like I used to because now my body has learned what the good stuff is and I feel better and have more energy now from eating those things that meet my nutritional needs.

Week 7 results: I lost 1.2 pounds for a totoal loss of 11.2 :) Yay! It's getting easier as I continue and my honey doesn't mind the Weight Watcher recipes I have been cooking :) I have signed up online (thank you Christy) and that is also helping me with the tools and recipe builders they have.

I agree with Denise, I no longer have the cravings for sweets that I used to and believe me it was REALLY BAD before I started, and I also have more energy.

How are you ladies doing?

I may have to look into weight watchers. I joined Curves which has helped but I need to make healthier eating choices. I just don't know if I can afford to do both. Will give this some thought after reading how well yall are doing. Congrats ladies. So proud of you. Keep it up.

Tammy,

It has been the only thing that has helped me. I highly reccommend starting the program. I was working out but not neccessarily watching my diet and wasn't able to lose. This has really helped me to make healthier food choices. I recognize portion control whereas before I would say "That looks good" or "That's about right" Oh boy!

I found this website that may be able to help you out if you cannot afford to join right now (I actually was doing it on my own until 2 weeks ago)

http://www.laaloosh.com/

This website tells you how many daily points you are allowed. WW is not based on calories but points, certain foods are worth so much in point value.

I also posted a recipe site (in an earlier) post that has some great recipes.

I hope this helps Tammy :)

OH my goodness, where have I been? You all sound like you're doing great and are way ahead of me!

Hey Violet :)

I weigh in on Tuesdays (just happens to be the day I was motivated to start). If I weighed in every day I would be so discouraged because of how much it fluctuates.

I hope you can join in too, I would love to encourage you!

I also weigh in on Tuesdays. It has really helped me to make healthier eating choices. I do notice that no matter what I do have those times of splurging. But now I try to even make those just enough to satisfy and not go overboard and get out of control. Somedays self control is hard but that is what it is. Self control and being in control of your choices and how you spend your time, moving more, etc.
Hope we can all be an encouragement. I just made my first week of maintenance on WW. 5 more weeks and I won't have to pay anymore when I attend the meetings. I find for me the point system is much easier than trying to count calories.

Okay, it's weigh in day today but I don't want to :)

I gained (the scandal of it all) .2 pounds. Not sure if it is my girl thing or because my food choices weren't the best this week. I stayed within my allotted points and had weekly points left so we'll see next week. I'm trying not to get discouraged and am going to make better choices this week :)

How is everyone else doing? I'm praying for you all!

Sharon,
I will admit I am at square one still. But I am on a work out schedule now and I found out today our church has weight watcher meeting twice a week, so I am looking into that to get more information. I am working on a menu too that involves good eating choices for my whole family.

thanks for praying that means a lot to me

I've been going for 3 weeks now & have lost just about 5 pounds but I am having a hard time fitting in the exercise. Hopefully once the kids get back in school it will give me a bit more time. We all took a walk together which is good for all of us but I think I need a little more than that.

Hello Ladies,
I would love to join this thread! I joined WW in 2003 and in 18 months lost 110 lbs. Over the years I re-gained 40 of those pounds. Two weeks ago I re-joined and am down 6 lbs so far. I found an At Work group that meets at a church; they unofficially incorporate faith into their program! I love the structure and accoutability that WW provides. I don't like the artificial foods so many of the people at the meetings rave about. My goal is clean, wholesome, local foods and that is not how most people eat.

Denise- Congratulations on reaching your goal weight! Whoo Hoo!

Tammy- I hope the group at your church works out for you! WW is a very healthy and livable lifestyle.

Sharon- 0.2 lbs? That is nothing; it will be gone by the next weigh in.

Good night y'all.

Lida

Welcome Laura and Lida!!! Yay, more to pray for :)

Tomorrow is my weigh in day so I am excited.

Laura: 5 pounds, that is AWESOME! I'm sure that onces the kids are in school like you said, you will be able to find time to exercise. I will be praying for you for that as well :)

Lida: OH my goodness! How awesome! 110 pounds, way to go! I'm glad that you are back on and headed on the right path now :) I too love the accountability, I need it. In the past I tried so many fad diets and starving myself but nothing kept the weight off. A few years ago I was on Weight Watchers and lost 10 pounds but I stopped and can't remember why. I maintained but still needed to lose more. I am about 5-10 pounds away from where I would like to be, we'll see when I get closer.

I know what you mean about artificial foods. I can't go there. A friend shares with me recipes and tips she gets from meetings and I do not want artificial sweeteners, flavors, colors, or yuk. I am eating lots of local produce, more fish and chicken and whole grains.

I am so proud of all of you girls and am praying for you too! See you tomorrow!

Well, I have to say that today is a MUCH better weigh in day :)

I got on the scale this morning and checked it numerous times (and asked my husband to also) to make sure I read it right. From last week's weigh in I lost 4.2 pounds for a total of 15.8 :) I have been on WW for 10 weeks and just starting week 11 today. I did more exercise this week and made better choices. That along with being done with the girl thing helped I'm sure :)

How are all of you ladies doing? I want you to know that if I can do this ANYONE can!!! I am praying for all of you so please let me know how :)

Hello Ladies,
Sharon WOW!!! Great work! Isn't amazing how wonderfully God designed our bodies?

Laura- When do your kids go back to school? What a great time to find "me" time to take care of yourself. As mother's we get so caught up in taking care of others that we forget that we need to be cared for too.

Tammy- How is it going? Does your family appreciate the healthier foods you are preparing them?

Violet- My weigh in day is Wednesday. I go to a Wednesday evening meeting.

Remember to enjoy the journey!

Hi ladies,
I have been going to Curves and there are three ladies at my school where i teach that are going to do weight watchers. WE have decided to work together for encouragment and we are weighing in at school. We have set a goal of how much weight we would like to lose. One teacher is giong to Maui at Christmas. Just having someone who is doing it with me and we can hold accountable really is helping me.

My family is not complaining about the healthy food choices except the one dear son who has a bit of a sweet tooth. But even he is getting better too.

I am at least started. Our first meeting for weight watchers is Thursday. We can go either Tuesday or Thursday. I love coming here to see how yall are doing and you guys encourage me as well.

Thanks ladies,
Tammy

Thanks Lida :)

I look forward to hearing how you are doing :) God is amazing!

Tammy, good for you!!!! I am so proud of you. These past few weeks of eating healthier have made such a huge difference in my health,my blood pressure is normal, my hair and skin look and feel better, I have more energy. Nothing but benefits :)

I had to chuckle when I read that your one son has a sweet tooth, THAT was my biggest problem. I have since switched to eating fresh fruit and once in awhile have a glass of Chocolate Soy Milk for my chocolate fix :)

Way to go girls!!!

Happy Thursday!
Well my weigh in went well last evening [ Insert editorial comment here- all weigh ins go well as they are but one reflecton of a journey whether there is a gain, maintain or loss- end of editorial comment]. I was down 2 lbs for a total of 8 lbs in 3 weeks! I know that the weeks of 0.2 losses or the occasional gain are ahead, but I'l celebrate whatever happens as long as I am making choices that are healthy for me.

Tammy- How wonderful that you have a support network at your school. How are you helping your son with his sweet tooth? My teenaged DD has a strong sweet tooth too.

Kris- Please stop by and encourage us any time! I can always use the encouragement.

Sharon- Your messages are so encouraging! Thank you for praying for us. I need prayers to maintain my focus of dependence upon God for this journey. I need to remember that it is His design of my body that allows me to make right choices and become healthy and not anything that I created. Thank you.

Laura & Violet- Hello ladies! How are you doing?

Well, time to head out for a walk before work.

Enjoy the journey!

Awesome Lida!!!!

You are doing so good!!!! I agree with what you posted, it's all good because we are on our way and making the healthier choices. I know that it has made a huge difference in my life and I also feel better having a cart full of healthy things when I am at the store ;) God is in control and without His help, I know that I wouldn't be where I am today (in all aspects). It is my pleasure and privilege praying for you lovely ladies :)

Thank you Kris!!! You are so encouraging and I know that you walking girls are doing great too!!! We are all on our way in becoming healthier :)

I would love to hear from everyone too!

Hi ladies,
you are all doing great. I made it to Curves three times this week. I was proud of myself because there were times I really didn't want to go. As for sweet tooth, I don't have much for sweet stuff in the house. Son is adjusting. We do have ice cream once a week as a curb for that sweet tooth. I don't miss it much Son is still grumbling but then when you are 14 that comes with the teenage journey. His twin brother just laughs and says it will do you good.

Keep up the good work ladies.

WEll when I weighed in I did not lose anything so I was kinda bummed about that. But I decided to write down what I am eating and really look at what I am putting in my mouth. Worked out today. I am not giving up, but it is sure hard when there is not a bump on the scale.

How are the rest of you ladies doing?
