Yep . . Sharon, I have seen license plates used as birdhouse roofs. In fact, I've done that too! Robin has one that I made for her with the 2nd license plate from her car. (Front plates aren't required on cars in Arizona)
In Old Town of San Diego, she and I saw some really cool purses made from license plates in an upscale shop there . . . very interesting.

Hey Julie,
Do you use your purse a lot? What shape is it and does have compartments?

Oooo Julie can you post a picture of the license plate that was made into a purse. I have never heard of that or even a birdhouse roof from a license plate. I do birdhouses, umm, I might try that. But I would have to take license plates off the cars in my neightborhood first haha.

No I don't use it alot, only for special occasions. It doesn't have any compartments in it, wish it would. I'll try to take pictures tonight for you Joan.

CJ, I knew I would find you here. Just wanted to thank you for the birthday card. It was a nice surprise.

I have been working on a jacket for myself. I have never been one for sewing clothes but I just had to have this jacket. I will post pictures when it is done. I'm piecing different fabrics together and then quilting each section and then sewing it together. Yesterday I got tired and fibro started to act up and I cut out and sewed two pieces backwards. Hopefully today I can cut out new pieces and get that fixed. I'm learning as I go.

I love creations with old license plates. The purses are very unique.

Later all. Off to the basement and sewing machine.

Just been working on dishcloth sets in the evenings in between making Fig Jam, Habanero Fig Jam, Strawberry Fig Jam :) My parents have 2 34-year old fig trees and so far we've picked 33 lbs of figs. No rain lately, so the harvest kind of dropped off. Back to knitting and sewing!

Julie, that purse is so unique. Really clever.

Bunny I am anxious to see your jacket when you finish. It sounds like it is going to be so pretty.

CJ your sign is wonderful. It must have taken lots of time and work much less many, many license plates to make it. Really nice!

I finished my first knitted shawl, but had mistakes. My 10 year-old wanted it just as it was, but I am starting another one for myself with fringe. If these turn out nice, I may sell them at the market next season.

What a blessing Kristina! I always wanted a big family. We were blessed with one son and I treasure him. I do miss sewing for a girl though. Been thinking of sewing some simple, modest little girl dresses to sell.

Kim, that's an excellent idea. You can't find modest dresses in stores anymore. Not even for adults it seems.

I have to shop in the men's department for my workout clothes for the gym. I really do. All I can find in the women's department (here anyway, in stores) is skin tight and really short shorts. It's hard to find long skirts here too. Meijer has them at summer time, but I have to drive to the Amish areas to find longer skirts.

I borrowed this idea from a friend,,, simply spray painted a metal tray, then added magnets to the back side of some Scrabble Tiles... now friends can leave me 'messages' at my trailer door...

so easy peasy.....

What a great idea. I'm supposed to be doing some work around the house the next two days, but might just have to get out to some thrift stores too!

I'm taking the holiday time to have some fun with watercolor painting. I am making journal pages. The top left one was done by my 10 yo dd, and also the one with the two flowers (which I later added the word "Grow" to the page), and the barn one was started by me, but finished by my 15 yo dd.

I helped my 10 yo dd make some turtle charm earrings.

I am working on the cover of a journal for my writing (collecting information)....

...and finally putting a cover on my Homesteading Journal
