Working on baby booties. Also learning to do simple patterns of counted cross stitch! Years ago I loved the printed canvas for cross stitch! Getting used to the 'counting' now!

Love all the projects ladies!
We just got a small downpour of rain - YAY! I won't be picking from the garden or weeding. Phew! It's wonderful to have a break. Yesterday, I worked out there (2 hours) until 10am and I could literally ring sweat from my clothes. I got 37 tomato plants staked - only about 90-some more to go. My garden cart has a flat tire, so I had many trips back and forth between the garden and barn.
With the rain, I may be canning more relish and working on several crochet projects. I still have a Christmas lap blanket I am finishing up with, my knitted (second) shawl, more pot holders for the "store" and now Christmas ornaments. I may do some writing before that too.
Then again, I really need to tidy up my bedroom closet/craft closet. Such decisions.

Finally finished my primitive hutch that my DH built. I did a black paint, sanded all the edges to look old and worn. Then I did a wax in a Pecan color...on to our next project lol
This picture is with the door
This is the top of the hutch with two small shelfs on both sides
We had fun!

Cut out leaf print (for cammo) squares along with browns and greens to make a quilt. Then I finished up on some stuffed felt dove ornaments. Trying to get ahead start on Christmas. Plan on selling at the craft fairs starting in mid October, then one in mid November and one the first weekend in December. Laurie

I finally got my pictures downloaded. Here is the "Girly Tool Belt" I made my sister. I am planning on making a mini one for her great granddaughter and a high chair seat for a friend of mine.

I love to read this thread. Love all the things everyone makes and posts. So today I figure it was my turn to share. I decided that it was time I learned to knit more than a scarf or simple 6 inch dish cloth. So..........I watched a few YouTube flicks. Here is my very first pair of socks. These are made with worsted weight yarn. I messed up on the cuff. But because I was making them both at the same time, I made an equal mess on both. Still, the keep me feet warm.
My second pair came out better. Well, they are a little wide. I used a sock weight yarn. But again, my feet stay warm.
And here is my biggest accomplishment.....those of you who think they cannot make a sweater or cardigan, think again. This is simple. Its all one piece. Working from the coller down. I am still working on the bottom ribbing. Next I will lengthen the arms.
And lastly, before I could even start my sweater, I needed to make a tote and yarn bag to carry it in.

Thanks Kathy. My sister loves ladybugs and I figured this would make her smile while she is out working in the garden.
You did a wonderful job on your socks. Those don't look like a first attempt. Very nice. The sweater is awesome. What pattern are you using? And I must say your knitting bag has you knitting in style. Your ready for your local "Knit in Public" with that.
NICE, NICE, NICE.

Took some "teaser" shots of some aprons I made for Farmers Market yesterday. They all sold . . along with many others. It was a great sales day!
This lace piece is at the top (bib) area of a regular styled bib on a pansy print and trimmed with burgundy red.
Funky, fun print in a "retro" style
Artistic chile peppers with coordinating trims in a "retro" style.
Cutting out more today to sew up for next market day! Sew! Sew! Sew!! CJ

CJ...your aprons are hands down the best I've ever seen or worn. And You have the creative juices to know just how to combine fabrics to cutesie n gussy them up. I have no doubt that you sell out in your various venues. YOU are one talented Farmgirl!

Kathy: Good for first pairs of socks. Keep it up, and thanks for the sweater inspiration. I am heading that way, just have this little detour of a christening gown to finish. I hope I can, I hope I can, I know I will, I know I will. :} |
