How do you fill tea bags? Can you actually buy empty ones to fill?

Phyllis,I found empty tea bags on Ebay that you fill yourself and iron them closed. I got the idea from another farmgirl (Ginny) (Oggie) that grows her own herbs and makes her own teas. They are fabulous. She sent me some for my birthday and it was so good. I had alot of different kinds of loose tea and wanted to put them in bags to make them more portable.

I have lots of loose teas that I would love to put in bags. I think I need to see if I can find tea bags.

Janet! Thank you so much for sharing this. My 15 yo dd just asked if we could make those for the Farmer's Market, but I would like to make my own. I could take them camping/glamping and on road trips too.

Boy...I learn so much from here.

I'm working on items for the Farmer's Market. I have to say, I never realized how much work this would be. Maybe it seems like more, because I have a large family to care for (and animals). I better get back to work....only one day to finish making my herb drying racks and knitted dishcloths.

Thanks Janet, I was going to ask Ginny how to do it but now I know. I have so much loose tea and want to make tea bags. Gee, you really made a lot. The coffee bags sound really neat, too.

I just finished a baby quilt for my niece who is expecting a baby in July. I am still working on a mystery quilt at my sewing group.

Hugs,

Stash tea sells the empty tea bags on line too. Today I transplanted lettuce starts - about 48 so far and still have another 24 to do but they aren't quite large enough yet. So I am back to my spinning wheel!

With the opening of our Farmers Market less than a month away, my sewing machine is VERY, VERY busy cranking out aprons of every description. Finished several "flounce" style bibs this week, cut out several children's aprons and today have been making an assortment of hotpads and potholders.
In the pic the bright colored floral ones won't have the loop on them. Those that look like vintage fruit/vegetable crate labels do have rick-rack and button loops. The oval one in front is a sample of the little ones you can use to grab handles. The little mitt shaped one is an accident . . . but it's opened up a plethora of ideas that I'm going to be pursuing.
Using Insul-bright and Warm & Natural inside. We love the samples I've made for ourselves!
Thanks for letting me share!

CJ, you are so busy. That is good, but try to have some you time also. Stop and enjoy a cup of tea and get refreshed in between. Your aprons are so beautiful, everyone wants one!!!

It's not what I am working on today, but I've made a few more pin cushions to sell at the Farmer's Market. Hubby is trying to get me to keep the chicken one.

I've made several "Layer Cake" waist aprons in the past but a farmgirl ordered a bib style she wants to give as a gift.
So, this is how my "Layer Cake" bib turned out. (It's kinda hard to see them but there are two crocheted lace edge pockets on there as well).

Also busy making more and more aprons of my other styles for Farmers Market and a couple restaurants that are selling them.

Sew! Sew! Sew!

I simply must say wow to everything the farmgirls are creating. I made a jean skirt today but it has to go on the back burner, I don't have a zipper to finish it. But here is the latest for my DS, he does have a pair of matching shoes in the works too.

I am making a crocheted flower basket necklace as a "peace offering" for MIL so hopefully she'll be on my side for a while.

That, and I have felt like doing tiny work for a while and this was all that came to me.

Well, other than gardening, flower gardening, upkeep, and house chores, I've been preparing for another Farmer's Market. The theme is "flower power" so I have several new items in my "store" (you can click on that link to see pics).

Yesterday, I took time to iron on more MJF transfers - 2 shirts and 3 bandanas (for our next camping weekend).

I'm working on drink/pitcher covers. I'll have photos soon.

CJ, my 15 yo wore her yellow cake layer apron at the Farmer's Market - got lots of oohs and aahs! They want your web site address now.
