I have been busy using my embroidery machine. Working on quilt squares that can be used for anything. Here are a couple of pictures:

I love my machine and all the projects I can do with it.

Today I'm working on finishing my vintage dress. This is the first time I have tried using a vintage pattern. The directions weren't especially good and pieces didn't match up right.

Since I finished helping my daughter with her skirt, I am going to start a little project I call, "Cover all those wire hangers with yarn" project. I have a plethora of wire hangers and I am tired of things falling off of them. So I will try to do one per week and it should take me the rest of my life to finish this one. LOL

I'll post pics when I get one done.

The dress is using a 1930's pattern & made a belt with an antique metal button on beaded wide lace
The shirt/jacket has different laces & doilies on it plus a cross stitch rooster iron on from the 1940's on the front....2 round doilies are used as button holes for the old brown buttons....dyed with Curry powder & a bit of yellow dye...back has a unusual long doily plus the back is longer than the front & the bottom lace you see is actually from an antique bedspread....Michele'

I'm working on knitting some new washcloths (using 100% cotton yarn) my other ones are getting old & I'll use them for cleaning the house & so forth. The pattern I'm using calls for making cables,so this is a good new way to stretch my needle know-how. I just finished another pair of knitted slippers that MJF printed the instructions for a year or so ago. Michele-good work on the clothing!

I am making pot holder sets, along with one crocheted throw, and one crocheted blanket. I am also cutting up more old sheets and pillow cases for another future rag rug.

I just started a quilt for a grandbaby due in July as well.....I was stuck for several days, thinking and thinking about how I wanted to do this one! The mom is using sage green and browns and wants to go with a jungle theme....I found the perfect material a few weeks ago...2 different prints....but had no idea how I wanted to do it! Finally I thought of using a 12" X 12" scrapebook page as a pattern.....cut the squares out....then decided to cut those squares into triangles...then cut again....NOW....I have them all cut and will mix and match the triangles into squares again, alternating the prints, and sew together...I plan to tack it with matching yarn...Hope it turns out good!!

Hello All!

I just finished working on custom ordered pillow covers for a sweet Etsy customer. Made from vintage fabrics and laces. She picked out these fabrics from my stash, and I love what she choose.

Thanks for letting me share.

Helena...very pretty pillows. I am not usually a big fan of yellow (just not my color) but these are just
charming with the Vintage Look and The Lace. She will love them I am sure.

Blessings,
Peggy

Hello All !

I finally finished working on some Spring/Summer bags.

And also some applique wall hanging, made with some old burlap bags (my latest obsession, lol):

Thanks for letting me share. Have a happy day!

Debra and Helena, your projects are wonderful! I haven't been able to do any craft or stitching projects lately. Very busy with a huge garden and extra long hours at work. I have my fingers crossed that the workload will even out this week so I can do something relaxing and fun next weekend!

Cheers! ~ Marilyn
