Connie...I loved your story about passing on your Craft to a younger woman (someday).
I wrote about this very topic on this thread last summer. So, nice to hear how someone
else found joy in passing on her craft...after all, isn't that how most of us learned
to begin with? You blessed her by teaching her and she blessed you by being such a
great student and picking the craft up so easily. And she will go on to someday pass
her knowledge on to others too. Way to keep The Cycle Going Full Circle...from your hands
and heart to another and another and another. Thanks for sharing!

blessings,

Thanks Peggy! You are so right. When a willing student and a willing teacher come together wonderful things happen. :)

connie,,now that's what I'm talking about....i was that 12 year old once.i learned to crochet from my aunt when she came to take care of us when my mom had my little sister. To this day I think of her every time I pick out some yarn for a new project. I just wish she were alive to see all I have done. I started a memory crochet blanket about ten years ago.. Saved yarn from all projects and crochet a row with each one. Then crochet white in between..kind of looks like a quilt..i need to border it now.. That will take me another 10 yrs. Lol.... So see connie, memories....

I have laughed on the forum today and now I have teared up. What a nice thought Paula. Isn't that what we all want in the end? To be remembered? I need a tissue. Sigh...

That's OK. Tears are good for us. I think our souls are closer to the surface when we cry. That is why grief makes the world feel so close and our senses so raw in grief. I think tears put our egos to sleep for a little while.

Hi Farm sisters, How is every one doing?
Well you asked me what I was working on, soooo I will tell you. I have got to get my plot ready for my garden. I haven't put in a thing yet. The weather won't cooperate yet.
I went to a friends house and she has Horse manure, so hubby and I got a trailer full. We dinn't have to shovel it in but when we got home I had to shovel it out on the garden spot. My Hubby has been sick and he has COPD. he is out of breath all the time from doing almost nothing, I do all I can to help, so I have done about half the trailer load, and tomorrow we have to go to the Dr. I hope it doesn't rain Saturday, I will be able to finish. I am so thankful she had a front end loader to fill our trailer.
I soon have to start working on my grandaughters Birthday Dress. She likes them bright colors. She is a sweetie. What are you all working on? I know you are busy, Take care, Hugs from Farmsister #1020 Needy

Lately, I have been knitting dish cloths. I have also gathered a lot of t-shirts and other fabric that need to be cut in strips for rugs. Guess that is what I will be doing today since it is snowing and I can't work in the yard.

Tonight I cut out an entire stack of hearts...to make into Heart Yo-Yo's. One of the Farmgirls
who makes aprons sent me an entire box of wonderful fabric scraps for free. What a Sweetheart...so,
I am just going to have to send her a surprise pkg very soon...as a thank You! You can't let a
kindness like she did...go un-appreciated.

Blessings,
~peggy

I just got a farmgirl white cotton jacket cut out that will be covered in antique laces & then dyed a soft yellow color to go with the pantaloons I made earlier & am wearing right now under a skirt!....just got in a huge order of laces so between last weeks order & this I now have at least a few hundred yards of different laces to work with.......its been rainy since last night & my water barrel is 1/2 full of rain water already....hopefully the sun will soon shine again so I can get out there & make my lye from the wood ash & rain water for soap. Never have done it so it should be a great experience learning something new.....Michele'

My friend Karen just got three little chicks and so I made a sign for her coop~to~be. For the past week or so I've been working on chicken coop signs and listed them in my sharnymcclarny etsy store.

I did find the heart yo~yo pattern Peg. But I had trouble printing it out??? Would you send me one?
Here is the sign I did for Karen ...
Its wood gleaned from the Spokane River after a spring flood left it on the bank. The river is super high again this year so should be a goldmine of driftwood out there in a month or two. Can't wait to go scavenging!
