Also took a bunch of well worn ratty looking 100% wool sweaters and made my own felt for projects. Its amazing what a person can do with stuff they already have around the house. Anyone remember story boards with felt as a kid? Even in this high tech age, young children love felt board stories, where they can also use their imagination.

I finished a scarf for a friends daughter, started a new scarf for myself, making a knitted purse for a friend, and did some Christmas wrapping this morning. I like to wrap as I shop. I am always making Dish Clothes and Scrubbies, they are fun to pick up and work on during those times you need a break from your bigger projects. I am working on a huge stack of Christmas Cards...that I love to do each year. I keep the Post Office in business...I know I do! :+) Tis The Season to stay busy...fa la la la la la la la!

Christmas Blessings,

I'm currently working on a pair of socks for myself. My fiance told me whatever project I worked on had to be for me so I decided to use this last skein of sock yarn I bought last year and work on another pair. This is my 4th pair. I started knitting socks about a year ago and got the bug. I bought this yarn specifically becaused I loved the name, Nymphadora Tonks.

Tammy...shared your post with a Friend who loves to knick Socks too...she does the pair at
one time method. But I know she will get a charge out of the name of your Sock Yarn and the
picture.

I had a friend buy me 2 skeins of the most gorgeous yarn about 3 years ago...and I have always
been saving it for a Special Project! But alas...I could never find anything Special Enough, so
last night I put it with another yarn and started knitting myself a new scarf. And it is turning
out beautiful. So even though scarfs are pretty 'everyday' accessorizing...I will still enjoy it
much better than continually seeing the yarn in my yarn bin calling my name. This yarn is made in
Italy and the brand is Lana Gatto and the yarn is "Crystal" and it is kind of a Raspberry colored
yarn with Raspberry Metallic threads running through it too. Will post when I finish it...if my
computer will allow me to. It is more temperamental than I am...most days! lol

Blessings,
Peggy

PeggyAnn: I'm hoping to learn to knit both socks at the same time soon like your friend does. I've been told there's a bit of a learning curve to it. Who couldn't love a yarn named after a Harry Potter charecter. LOL

The yarn sounds yummy. I'm sure the scarf will be beautiful. Scarves are one thing I haven't knitted or crocheted in a long time. Once the kids got older and stopped losing them there wasn't as great of a need :O)

Today I am going threw old fabric and seeing what I have and get going on widdling it down. I just does'nt seem right to hold on to fabric for 15 years If anyone knows what I mean.
So my mission is to use it up or share it and there is no new purchases til I get it under control.
I am having so much fun.

Sharon,
Really cute cards! I just love them.

Cynthia,
My hat's off to you. I hate having to part with fabric. I inherited my grandmother's and mom's stashes. I made up some old flannel and holy cow what a difference in quality. I did let some of the single knit go to a friend -- aren't I generous!

I just started cutting up some wool sweaters I had felted to make a blanket for my mom for Christmas. It's like putting together a puzzle. I think I am going to put some old clunky buttons on it too. I love the way that looks with the buttons.

I am also making afgans for my 2 daughters and their hubbies. And dish clothes. And I am going to make them both a recipe book with all our favorite recipes. My head is swimming thinking about all I still need to do before Christmas.

Y'all stay so busy. I don't know how everyone does it all.

Kris

Sharon...Beautiful Christmas Cards! Hey girlfriend...did you sign up to read the traveling book "Quilts from Heaven" that CJ is sending around? I just got my copy yesterday and I am really enjoying it; but I thought of both you and Darlene when I got it because you both quilt. Hope Marianne and Kristin got on the list too. It is a lovely and charming book. Just the right thing to sit down with a cup of tea or coffee and take mini-breaks from the Hustle and Bustle of The Holidays and do a little something for yourself. We have a month to read it but I will be done in a week or two during the busiest time of the year. So, you can tell it is a quick read.

Today, I helped out a lady that I don't know...who is trying to earn money to go see her son for Christmas. She was selling these beautiful Quilted Looking Christmas trees that she made...for only $20.00. It was a blessings for me and her. Except I have so little room to store decorations here in my Apartment. Will need to do some re-vamping after the Holidays.

Other than that and making some scarfs...I am doing nothing today! Merry Christmas Ladies!

blessings,
~peggy

Thank you for the lovely Christmas card Peg. No ... I haven't signed up to read the "Quilts from Heaven" book. Where can I do that? Right now I'm trying to figure out something to put in a tiny round frame (1 5/8" across) for my daughter for Christmas. Maybe her initial embroidered or cross~stitched? Too small to do a patchwork unless ... UNLESS I make it a tiny crazy quilt with fance little stitches. Hmmmm. Any ideas farmgirls?

Peg ... I can try to make a teeny tiny crazy quilt heart. If it works out, I'll post a picture. Thanx for the suggestion.

Sharon...you ooze talent girl!!! I know if anybody could do it ... you can! Do you knit at all? Another thing
I have seen is teeny-tiny beginnings of knitting (just about 10-12 rows) done on tooth picks. Then they leave the tooth pick in the knitting half way through the last row done and then they place a small seed bead at the bottom of each tooth pick...so it looks like a real knitting needle, leave a tail on the yarn and frame it. And of naturally the yarn is a real fine-fine yarn like an eye-lash yarn or a fine sock yarn. They are adorable! Probably would be way less work than the small quilting piece. Unless you don't know how to knit...then ya gotta go with what ya know!

Smiles,
Peg

I finished my quilt top Tuesday. It's just a little sampler, but I wanted to share it with all of you.

Sweet quilt. It's almost an exact copy of the very first quilt I made but mine had a variation of the card trick instead of the 4th square you used with the points - and mine was in blue, pink, and white colors. Did you hand quilt it? Congrats on getting it done. You've done an excellent job on it.

Hi Tammy~ It's not quilted yet, but I do plan hand quilting. I took a beginner quilting class and this was the project the instructor had us do. I'm amazed I got this far! Usually I start stuff and never finish. :( But I've promised myself that as soon as Christmas is past I'm going to buy my backing, batting and binding and get 'er all done!

I haven't posted on here in a while, but I have been busy! I've been working on scarves, a baby blanket, and I found an easy crochet pattern for baby booties. I'm going to sell some things during farmers' market months. I'm really excited! I really think I've found my yarn passion through crochet. Over the next few days, I hope to make more things, as I recently had a knee surgery and am stuck sitting!
Pam, your ornaments are so cute!
