Hi Peggy, well, I don't own a light box so what I do is this:
I have a piece of glass ( from a table top I think) and I place it centered between two file cabinets. Place a lamp (without the lampshade) on the floor underneath the glass. Now lay out whatever I am tracing and then the fabric over that. Works great and I am not limited by size. . . which is a good thing for me

The homemade light box trick. I have done that one a time or two myself. I like to do punch needle stuff when I can get the time.

I like the large surface area, it makes transferring a quilting design onto a quilt top so much easier ( a whole cloth style top)

Today, I'm working on crocheted sweaters to send to the LOWO which is a child protective service agency for the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota working with the Oglala Sioux Tribe. I found the information in the Sept. 2010 issue of Crochet! magazine. Let me know if you would like any information.

That's a great light table trick. I'm working on dishclothes still -- all I can handle right now after long days at work -- weekend is here though. I am teaching myself to knit and just did some sampler dishclothes using knitting and purling. I'm thrilled that I didnt' add or lose any stitches. Suzanne

...back from the Tat Days.. it was amazing! It sure did build up my confidence in my skills for tatting! As I complete few of the projects that got started over the week-end.. I'll add them to my blog. My brain was spinning! Whew!

*update: I added some to the blog but will finish it later.

wow karrieann, cant wait to check out your tatting.
i have been regrouping in my craft room and trying to reorganize, clean and just add some dos and dads.
i have been making and adding some shelf liners made of paper.

i have found that each day i seem to feel better and better and i know i will be crafing more and sleeping less as the fall turns to winter. well, by spring i am hoping to be a new and improved version of myself.
if there is one thing this cancer journey teaches you it is surely patience.

I love the shelf paper with lace. Wow. I need to get into my stitching room and re-do things.

I started a furry bright red scarf out of fur yarn. I saw them at the farmers' market and realized that I could make them with my simple knit stitch. I am trying to branch out but always come back to the simple thing.

I finished an angel doll and it's on it's way to a very special person. Suzanne

I need to spend some time in my sewing room and my garage. A couple of teenagers came along with their dad to help with the remodel and they made a real mess of my sewing room moving shelves and all my containers of fabric and even moved my small loom with a project on it to get to the dart board. The garage is my own mess part of the price of the remodel.

Cherime...isn't if amazing how you can practically mess up the whole house to improve one room?
And it takes three times longer getting it all put back together as it did messing it
up. ~ That is how I craft or do Multi-Media Art, as I live in a small Apartment...it
seems like I am messing up every room while working on projects then takes me a whole
day to find the place again! LOL

Blessings,
~peggy

I'm recovering from surgery so I have a whole few days to work on a crocheted kerchief, crocheted facial scrubbers and yo yo barrettes without a dab of guilt.

Frannie, that cancer journey teaches you a lot about patience--yours and the caregivers. The caregivers at the Tri-Cities Cancer Center gave me wonderful care and answered all my questions. They were there anytime I needed them to be.

My journey is almost over. I got the all clear (PET scan) and now I get to travel to visit with my 1-1/2 year old granddaughter next month. I'm so excited.

Take care of yourself.

I've been doing some "Spring Cleaning" as well. I had sewing and crafting projects and supplies spread out over three rooms and decided to get it all organized. Wow, what a job! Fran - your area looks great. I am turning one end of a sunroom into my "play house" as my DH call it.

I finally finished my duster. I am so glad it redid it. I would never have been happy with that mistake in it and probably would never have worn it. I also made a beret to match. If I can get a picture of it downloaded, and can figure how to post it, I will. It was my first attempt at a garmet with sleeves. The biggest I have done in the past was shawls.

Here is the jacket I did for my friend. I wanted the border to look like a frame.

Okay, I know it's been a while since I posted on here, but I'm going to try and start posting and working more often! Today I'm trying to figure out what I'm making for Christmas gifts.

KittyKill, I love the pocket. Where could I get the embroidery pattern? Do you color the cloth in some places? If so, what do you use. I have wanted to do something like this for a while. Yours looks great. Also, to my farm sisters recovering from cancer, hang in there. I just completed my second breast cancer bout in 10 years. The second time was easier, and this time I am not wasting my time being sad because I am so tired all the time I will get stronger, and so will you. Just let you heart go and craft anything you mind can think of, even if you have no place to put it or any use for it. Just GOOOOO!

Be good to yourself and be good to this earth.
