Vanessa, those are cool! Is there anything else used to make those bags? Or are they strictly bird seed bags? Can you share a picture of what the inside looks like? I like the idea of how large they are. They would even be good bags to take to the beach!

Krista, I found that sewing the short sides first made it easy. Everything is part of the original bag.

We have so many of those bags (goats, chickens, wild birds etc). I need to get over my fear of my sewing machine. Like some people fear a pressure cooker. I have 2, but just can't "get with the program"
My sis is a wonderful seamstress, but apparently it is not a familial trait. LOL
Every time I throw one of those bags away Vanessa, I think, "I could make something with this!!!"

Grace -- Love the rocks! I used to paint rocks and leave them in places for people to find.

Vanessa, that is so cool! Thank you for sharing. Those will make some great bags for you.

Grace, love the rocks. They are so cute.

I haven't gotten much crafting done these last couple of days. We went out of town for a little trip and to visit some family. I forgot my crochet bag at home. So now it's time to play catch up!

So many people are getting excited for the upcoming fall, so I decided to work on a fall crochet project. I am super excited with how my Jack Skellington turned out! It's been a fun project!

I would see about making amigurumi figures of some of the ghoulies from the movie Nightmare Before Christmas.

Marie, that would be cool. I will have to see what I can find. I like my wreath the way it is and don't want to add any other characters so maybe I can make a new wreath with the other characters.

I made my official project list for Christmas and my timeline for when I need to have each part done to be completed before Christmas. I think I may have to many things I'm trying to make that I may not finish. So it's time to buckle down and get my tush in gear. Wish me luck!

Never underestimate , bits, pieces, scraps, orphaned jewelry and thrift finds.,,,

a Thrift store frame, scrap of faux tooled leather and an orphaned earring...
Voila!

I used a piece of 'foam board for the backing.

A quickie project sparked from a pattern CeeJay sent me...

front & back

I sandwiched batting between 2 of MaryJane's fabrics...
and then embellished it to look like a wee trailer..
gotta luv a creative day in the sewing room...

Way to go Grace! You have been busy! Where do you plan to hang your new earring decoration? Your little trailer is adorable as always.

I make up my yarn list on Monday night and took a trip to the store while one of my boys was at school. Now I'm all set to get some projects done. I even started one last night because I was so excited! Hopefully now I can keep up with my timeline. I also snagged a couple kids painting projects that were on sale. My kids couldn't wait to get them painted.

Rainy followed by a wee bit of Hail today, sew.... I sewed... another apron

and put a puffy pocket on instead of a regular flat pocket.

and then...

I made some lacey hangy thingys... a glass trivet with flamingo fabric and a 9" Maple leaf quilt block.
Now all I need to do is iron the apron and quilt block and tomorrow I will spray on varathane on the underside of the trivet.
Luv rainy days....

Love your apron, Grace! It will be perfect for next years St. Patrick's day. Our last two days have been raining as well but I didn't get anything done craft wise. I'm hoping to get back on track today.

I popped in to the 2nd hand store today while hubby and I were out running errands... AND I scored 2 full/large not used cones of cotton crochet thread... now I can crochet a bunch of dish rags during rainy days.. oh and each cone cost only $2.99...
I can hardly wait for the really rainy season.. I'll be crocheting dish rags while watching Downton Abby...
Ahhh... perfect way to relax.

Now these cones cost $8.99...
