In the last 2 days I have made 4 Shilly Shallies, 2 microwave bowl potholders (so far), 2 potholder mitts, 2 Christmas stockings, and am working on a Christmas shirt for Ed.

This year for Christmas I am making the majority, if not all gifts. This includes the clothing for our eight children. So far each child has three sets, with my goal being 4. Since I've gotten that far, I decided to turn my attention yesterday to our Christmas Eve pajamas. Every year I make all of us a set... yes even my hubby and I. Today my goal is to finish said pajamas (I need to do the hems and put in the casing and elastic), and then I need to start outfits round 4.

Krista, The pillow is awesome. She is going to love it.

Shannon, Love that! We have always made our Christmas Gifts. They just mean so much more to us. When do you start? I try to start in January to ensure that I can get all the gifts made.

Just finished up my last mitten garland for the season. These were so fun to make.

Julie - I adore your garland!!! How fun and festive!

Theresa - sadly I did not start this year until after Thanksgiving. Right now I am living and breathing my sewing machine!! Eight of the ten pajamas are done as well as one of the outfits for round 4. The other two pajamas and another outfit should be done today, as well as baking!!!

Thank you Theresa!

Julie, your Garland is beautiful! That is a great idea. I love the look it gives with the fireplace and I bet it would even look pretty hanging on the tree.

Great job Shannon.

I have 2 more hot pads to finish up today and then I will be done with Christmas for my neighbors. I plan on taking them to my neighbors hopefully tomorrow.

Here’s a dress I made for my sweet niece. Her company Christmas Party is 50’s theme.

Today I made matching Mitt potholders, Microwave potatoe bag, microwave bowl potholder, and reusable flannel "paper" towels for my DIL for Christmas. Still have the "towels" to go. Here's a picture. She loves llama stuff so her presents this year have a theme going through them - llamas. LOL! Socks, PJs, and this stuff.

I am also going to make some reusable "paper" towels for me. I received one as a gift and love the idea of not throwing away all those paper towels used for spills and smal clean-ups.
Yesterday and today I am also making more baked potato bags for other gifts.

Beautiful dress, Sherone. You have been very busy.

Linda, your kitchen set is super cute. I haven't tried reusable paper towels before. Are they just fabric that you wash?

The reusable towels are a square of fabric (I start out with 10" or 10-1/2" squares, and they are backed with a square of flannel (I think mine are a flannel sheet). It doesn't have to be an expensive quilting flannel. Then stitch them with 1/4" right sides together, leaving an opening to turn. Edge stitch around them and stitch an "X" from corner to corner and you are done. They are great for spills or minor cleanup and you aren't wasting all those paper towels. Very easy to make.

Some people put snaps on the ends and snap them together around a paper towel tube, but to us that is not needed and the snaps really would get in the way.

Thanks Linda. That's a really great idea. We use quite a few paper towels in this house. I am always cleaning up messes left by my littles!! I'll keep this project in mind for next year. To many projects right now lol!

beautiful projects everyone. Shannon great job on so much sewing you got done. My mom always made our presents too. Got to tell you as we got older, and she ran out of time we would get kits. Material and patterns wrapped up. We still joke about that. lol But the best thing is all us kids love to make our presents for family. I sewed like crazy when my boys were young. To Me homemade gifts are what makes Christmas wonderful. Merry Christmas everyone.

For Christmas I got a diamond painting kit. I sorted all my beads last night and got everything ready to get started today. I'm going to work on it when the kids go to bed. It's going to be so much fun!
